Parts are not to high but labor will cost good bit more than parts, wheel bearing cost around 10 to 20 dollars each you have a inside and outsde bearing on each wheel, labor will be around 50 to 75 dollars just est. hope to help you, thanks robert b.

Roaring noise in front end of Monte Carlo 2001 the faster I go the faster it goes. Does not happen when I idle or rev the motor only when I'm driving?

A common problem with this generation of MC's is the ISS, or intermediate steering shaft. The shaft turns with the wheels and does exactly what you describe. If it isn't too far gone, a repair shop can do a lube job on it and some more parts on your front end to fix the symptom. If it is too far gone, you will need a new ISS.

There are other front end problems (power steering, wheel hubs, axles, brake rotors, etc.) that will cause similar noises and symptoms. If you aren't highly skilled and mechanically inclined, it is much better to just take the car into a repair shop for a diagnosis and/or estimate than to throw parts and labor at the general area. If somebody makes a bad judgement or two, the cost of replacing parts that do not eliminate the root cause will quickly add up to more than the cost of a proper repair. Not to mention the time involved. 25362372-awph1b3yhxdrnyqdcrsrelkr-5-0.jpg

I have a 2001 monte carlo and the coolant fan is only working on the passenger side and my car is running hot I changed the thermostat but it still runs hot

I have found the staff of your local Auto Zone, Napa, Auto Parts stores may know who with in their location has knowledge/back ground in such issues, and if not are usually familiar with the local repair shops that do; hence repair shops usually allocate their parts from local suppliers.

check the front wheel bearings. jack up each tire and see if it feels loose, if it does its a bearing problem. heres how I check for a bad wheel bearing.jackup car tire off the ground, get in car put e-brake on. start car. put foot on brake. put it in gear, and let it up very slow do not touch the gas. if its a bearing you will here it in the wheels. do the same on the other side of car. a bad wheel bearing will howl or grind. when wheels are turning.

2001 monte carlo ss. Rear wheel bearings making a grinding noise

It is pretty easy, there is not much labor involved if it has anti-lock brakes in the rear you will also have to un-plug the wire harness attached to hubs.
