Power window wont go up or down but i can hear the motor running

Your windows will not open or close. It is Very likely that a fuse or relay will cause a window to not roll up !! or down!!. If You Check The Fuse And The Relay Are Good.Then I Would Suspect The power window motor, door switch or window regulator has failed. ... Hearing the motor running, without the window working, usually shows the power window regulator or clutch are bad.

If the motor runs then the gears may be stripped on the motor housing or to where the gears contact the drive gear itself.

The motors for your car's power windows may be failing and will need to be replaced. I've personally experienced the same problem, more than once, with a different auto make and model.

Or, the window glass may have come off the track which holds it.

Unless you can do the work yourself, you will eventually need to take your car to a reputable auto mechanic and have the work done. It is not inexpensive, by the way.

Replacing the motor wont do you any good. You will still have a shreded cable. You can usually order the whole window regulator assembly as motor and cable plus all guides. If there is an option to get it without the motor you should be able to do that and save your self some money as it sounds like the motor still works just fine.

Less tan aceptable quality components were used by Chrysler on the Cloud cars (Stratus, Cirrus, Sebring) Much better iones were used in the previous Spirit, Reliant, LeBaron models. To help, you need to maintain clean all the window guides and cranck mecanism, properly lubricated and adjusted to reduce binding and sticking, which will burn out the cheap motors. Check proper voltage reaching the motors and very importantly, the ground return.

If you here the window motors running then take off the inner door panel and make sure the window gear is engaged into the motor. If so and the track moves up and down then the window came out of the track holders and has to be glued back in it.

your power motor is bad its easy for the window to go down because there is little Resistance but it takes a lot of power to push the window back up

Yes fairly easy to fix.

you have to replace the window regulator reason why is because the cable ripped which would cause the motor to work without moving the window up or down .. regulator is the cable and the rails were the motor makes the woindow move up and down on. you have to replace it.
