Z32 300zx Not working when wet?

The problem I'm having is that when my car gets went it does not work. Meaning if it rains or even from the moisture over night will not let my car stay on. When I start the car after being wet it starts up but then starts the problem lol. It'll start cuttin in and out like it's trying to stay on but it can't and then eventually shuts off but all the electronics inside the car stay on.

Others have told me it's the ground wires and that I should check them for corrosion. I've looked over the engine bay on top and can't seem to find anything that looks corroded. I'm not very car savvy so I'm not sure exactly where they all are or what I'm really doing lol. I've looked at pictures of what grounding wires look like and tried looking for as many as I could but nothing looked that bad. I probably missed a bunch but I haven't any idea where they all are at if that even is the problem.

If anyone lives in WI and would be willing to check it out that would be great too but otherwise I don't know what I'm doing.

The car won't work when it gets wet what else is there to Clarify? When I start it up while or after it's been wet out (rain or over night) it won't stay on and shuts off. I don't know how else to explain that any further? That is the problem, there is no more to explain

Why would I play to clarify a question (especially when I explained the whole situation) when I could just take it to the shop? That's the whole point of asking here so I don't have to do that and can figure it out myself with help right?

Sorry I meant Pay no play, why is there no edit?

What you can do to diagnose this issue is - take an old spray bottle (some kind of house cleaning solution), clean it out really well (so nothing flammable is in it) and fill it with water. Then, pop the hood to your car, start the engine, and then squirt different parts of your engine until you squirt an engine part that causes your car to shut off... then you know that's the problem!
I had the same issue with my husband's car. We determined that it was the distributor cap, which we purchased at Auto Zone and replaced on our own for like $30.

Hi Guys My 1.6 LX Ford Ikon, Rocam engin. would not start everytime after the rain, the ignition does not turn the starter AT ALL, Even if it was in the garage during the rain or outside it would not...

You have a wire or wires getting wet; (corroded or bare) condensation is the same thing when in garage; when outside the Sun "dries" the moisture and you can start.

I HAVE A 1996 ACURA TL.....EVERYTIME IT RAINS SOMETHING GETS WET AND THE CAR WON'T START. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS? HELP!

Replace the distributor cap and rotor, it is cracked causing it to short out when moisture gets inside.

2000 cadillac diville... Why does my service stability system come on only when it rains?

IT is probably set to wet weather conditions when you need maximum stability for driving. If in doubt talk to a caddy service person and have it explained.

Jeep running funny after getting wet

My first guess would be water or moisture in a wiring harness or wiring connector.

Can rain cause the car to shut down

Yes, rain or moisture can get under the plug boots, also rather it be a coil pack or distributor it can get within causing the (spark) to diffuse, meaning it splatters. It's best to buy Di-electric Grease and use it in the plug boots and if it's a coil pack, use it where the coil plug connects. This keeps the moisture out. I suppose it cuts off if you hit a puddle or if moisture gets into it, but after it sits for a minute or until dry, it will start up. The grease, you will only need a small tube, abiut $4.00.

1989 golf turns over, new distribitor and starting

Did you use electric grease on these parts, the plug wires, and coil pack need this grease on there. It prevents moisture and wetness from rain getting within the components and causing mis-fire. Did it rain or was it cold outside to produce moisture. Grease is $2 for small pack. I just worked on a 95 VW, changed the cap, rotor button, spark plugs, cleaned throttle body, new air filter, fuel filter. His would run fine, but would cut off sometimes up to hours until the moisture dried. After tuning it up, he no longer has the problem. He goes through water puddles to see if it will quit, but it hasn't yet. Worth a $2-$3 try.

Volvo s40 2003 wiring problems

THE FIRST THING TO KNOW IS THAT WATER OR MOISTURE IS AN (ELECTRICAL) PATH TO GROUND SOUNDS LIKE MOISTURE IS GETTING IN THE LOCKING SYSTEM AND RELAY YOU HAVE TO FIND WHERE IT IS GETTING IN (MOISTURE) AND CHECK THE FUEL-PUMP RELAY THE SIMPLE THING UNTILL YOU ABSOLUTELY KNOW WHERE MOISTURE IS TO REMOVE THE FUEL PUMP RELAY SO THAT THE BATTERY WONT GO DEAD

No start. Has new battery, fuel filter, fuel pump, and coil. Started in A.M., drove in rain to work...would not start in the evening. (?)

check all your wire connecters around your fuel injection assembly, had gone to the car wash once and cleaned engine, clips on wire connectors was broke and weak lock allowed water in and complete loss of relay. blew moisture out and away we went.
