You may need new brake pads, some pads have a wear indicator that will scrub the edge of the rotor and make noise when they wear to a certain point. I suggest you take to a qualified brake repair shop as soon as possible and have it checked by a professional

Why do I hear grinding noises while driving?

Hit in the rear axle may have damaged bearings or brake parts. Jack up the side you hear noise from, put on stand, then have helper rotate wheel while you look underneath and listen to see where noise is coming from. Use length of old fuel or heater hose, one end in ear, to locate exactly where noise comes from.

XL7 has a clicking scraping noise on drivers side in reverse only. Have checked brakes and they look ok. When I put on jacks with the hub off and turn by hand I can still hear the clicking grinding

Where is the noise? Front or back? At the brake or differential? Usually grinding and clicking is the rear brake drums. Brake shoes/hardware. Year, make, and model?

Montero rear right side grinding noise.checked the brake pads, brake shoes, drive shaft, shocker, suspension arms, brake discs, caliper and caliper pins.found ok,but still grinding noise on rough road

This is one of them questions and need i say more ,as without looking myself and having a drive then i could tell you straight away iam sure ,because without hearing the noise i cannot even summise where or what it is because a grinding noise is -well -difficult to denominate exacty what one defines as a grinding noise ,myself i would define it as a rythmic noise with the road speed but someone else would call it that noise for a trailing arm bush loose or worn but one thing to check is are the pads hitting a part of the brake disk thats corroded like on the edge of the brake disk ,sorry to be absolutely no help at all but i hope you appreciate how difficult it is to diagnose something with hearing it and from afar ,but if you only hear the noise when on a rough road could it be the tyres like a deformed tyre or them town and country tyres with big chunky treads .

Our S80 Vovlo, as the vehicle is ruuning, I hear a air leakcoming from the brake patel area, as I touch the patel the noises stop and as I let out the brake patel, the air leake strat again, have any

it sounds like the vacuum pipe to the break servo is leaking or it could be the servo diaphragm broken hence you hear the noise in the car, if the brakes are harder to press its most likely to be the servo unit more than the pipe i would also expect you to having a ideling problem due to the extra air in the intake system. hope this helps regards John

2005 honda accord noise when breaking (transaxle)

You say you hear the noise when you "slow down". Does this mean you hear the thumping noise when you let off the gas and let the car coast to a stop or only when you are applying the brakes to decellerate?
If you only hear the noise while applying the brakes then I would assume it has something to do with your brakes. The first thing that comes to mind would be rotors that aren't true or warped which could make a thumping sound.

Do you feel any vibrations in your foot when it is applying pressure to the brake pedal? If you do feel a sort of pulsating feeling then it could very well be your brakes making the noise.

I hope I was of some assistance,

My car makes a sqwealing noise when I press on the brakes

That noise you hear, is the brake indicator, letting you know its time to put new pads on.Its a small tab that scrapes on the rotor when the pads get low
