Question about 2002 GMC Sierra 2500HD
My truck brakes just fine at any speed as long as im traveling on smooth road, other then that if I need to stop at slow or med speeds going over bumps or uneven surfaces such as rumple strips, pot hole or just your typical city street that needs work I cant stop at all, i hit the brake and the pedal seems to be grabing but you can feel the pulsating and its to the point where if Im approching a light and its yellow I give it more gas instead of trying to get it to brake. I took it to the shop and all they did was replaced all rotors and pads ($1,300) and i still have the same problem, please help!!!!!
The pulsating is the ABS system. It's actually pumping the brakes incredibly fast to even the braking to all wheels.
There's sensors at each wheel and anytime it senses uneven braking, it's going to do this. You may want to pull the wheels and check the sensors and all of the connections and make sure there is no debris in any of the wheel sensor areas..
