Was working empty tank sent to turn it on would not turn on help I think its the switch ?

The fuel pump cutoff switch is not the cause here, I think you are saying you ran out of Gas? 1st not all cars have a fuel pump switch, and it only cuts off in a rear end collision of over 3 times the force of gravity, its formal name is an "Inertia Switch". When you run out of gas the fuel pump runs dry and at the same time it overheats (the tiny fuel pump uses the gas to cool and lubricate), if the car is older this destroys the fuel pump and it will need to be replaced.

My 1987 ford wont start, will turn over, put in new gas tank pump new relays reset accater and will not pick up fuel from tank and new frame rail pump no gas anywhere

There is an Inertia switch which cuts off the power to the fuel pump. As you did not describe your model, look on the internet by searching the term "inertia switch location" and then put in your model. Also the crankshaft position sensor tells the engine that you are turning RPM. This regulates gas pressure and sometimes does not create a code to indicate this part failed.

My fule cut off light is on and my car won't start

The inertia switch in the trunk cuts the fuel pump off in a wreck or if you hit a major bump in the road. The button should be in for the switch to be on.
When you say fuel cut off light, are you saying the low fuel light ?
That light means the gas tank is almost empty. If the tank is half full, the sending unit may be faulty.
If you know for a fact the pump is not running when you turn the key on, pull the pump relay which is in the engine compartment and check for voltage. You may need a shop manual or repair book to get the wiring diagram and test procedure.
The other solutions you see on this screen are suggested by the website and may not relate to your problem.

Is there a fuel reset switch in a 1990 Oldsmobile cutlass supreme

No GM doesn't use a reset switch (really called a "Inertia fuel pump cutoff switch"). The fuel pump is cut off by an oil pressure sensor. If this car has the original pump you likely just need to drop the fuel tank and replace the fuel pump. Does it start if you spray starting fluid into the engine air intake?

NO GAS PASSING THE FUEL FILTER

If yout cut out the inertia, have to put it back, because it controls another third fuel pump whish could be the one blocking the gas.

Did you run the pump outside the tank? If you did you are capable of burning the fuel pump,Those pump are to be in the tank you will need a voltmeter now to check the power

I have a 87 ford ranger and i put a fuel pump in the tank and drove about a mile and died.Has gas to the engine. will only run if sprayed down the throttle body. Its a 2.9, any thoughts on problem. Thank

there are 2 fuel pumps, a low pressure in the tank and a high pressure on the frame rail. the high pressure pump is probably bad. Check your relay and inertia/cut off switch first.
