Fisrt, check the fuel pump fuse, but I'm guessing you're past that already.

Go to the auto parts store or your nearest Walmart and pick up a can of Starter Fluid. Take of the cover of the air filter and have someone crank the engine. While cranking, spray starter fluid into the air filter area.

If the car starts, then it is not receiving fuel. If the fuse was fine, then the pump is likely not. You can try disconnecting the fuel line from the injectors to see if it releases any while cranking.

If it doesn't start, check for spark. It may be the coil, as bad wires or plugs would cause rough engine by failing individually before failing all together.

95 mustang gt 5.0 takes a wile to start, now driving this am the car just died turns overbut wont start, waited a wwile tried to start again it started and ran for 8 seconds or so and died again! any help...

check your fuel pressure... sounds like your fuel pump might be dying (happens to most it seems) or have a clogged filter sock. Pumps are cheap but a pain because you have to lower the tank down. I suggest keeping your tank near E until this clears up in case you have to lower it.

Engine will turn but not start

When you turn the key on can you hear the fuel pump??? Does the engine sound normal when turning over(compression)??? Then check for spark, fuel pressure, injector signal etc.

unplug the cam sensor behind the water pump pulley; see if it starts; if it does, shut off engine; replace both cam and crank sensors because crank sensors go out in these engines

DEFINITELY it has an electric issue since it runs with a jump battery, have the alt checked again and the charge regulator also. Good luck

Engine overheating

All i can think of is the thermostat is not opening. or you may have a clog somewhere preventing the flow. Check the T-stat and hoses and radiator ( for clogs) Good luck

95 Mazda Millenia runs very rough after overheating

Hi,
The compression test was a good test, but since you asked for ideas, I'd also check the following basic "naked eye" visuals:
1. Do you notice any white-ish smoke out the exhaust, especially after killing it then cranking back up?
2. With engine cold, take the radiator cap off and crank it. Does it act more violent than expected, like a geyser?
3. Loosen the oil pan drain screw to see if any water finds its way out from the bottom of the oil pan.
If so, to these tests... blown head gasket.
I hope NOT though... Good luck!
