I have the code, but have been unable to figure out how to enter it. There are no displays on the radio; however, the light inside the radio works or comes on when the car is on.

I paid for the code to my radio and tried to enter it as described; however, it would not unlock the radio. I tried the steps and code several times with no luck. Do you know what a dealer would charge to correct the problem?

If you can find someone at the dealer parts dept. that is willing to help you they can look up the code on their computer by using your vin number located at the bottom left corner of your windshield. You have to enter the code into the radio to unlock it.

When to jumpstart a 2005 Toyota Avalon horn sounded Now there is no power to radio or starter?

Did you hook the jumper cables up backwards, if so you have big problems. It should be red to red on battery post marked (+), black cable to the engine any bare metal.

Aftermarket stereo won t power on

you blew the fuse
check the fuses to radio, can be 2 or more.
1 in fuse box.
2 in radio, (some have 1 , and others have 2 or 3 more in side radio)
anything is possible with aftermarket, radios, 10,000 models, vast years. Ive repaired many. (ET)

the radio has a red wire, usually for power,
most radios have 3 power wires,
1 for rad ( this one dead) use a volt meter here.12v key on.
1 for dial
2 for memory

Toyota Avalon 2000 battery went dead, put slow charge on, now the temp/fuel gauge and panel lights don't work. Fuses look good. Where is the problem?

Try a new battery. If current battery is more than 5 years old ,and after you charge it she doen't pass a load test ...its time to go.

Radio is on but display is dimmed

Maybe, your radio is having problem with the connection. Check the connection of your radio whether it is properly connected or your give your radio to a repairer for proper servicing. So, the problem is of two types, (1) Connection of the radio to your car or (2) The radio needs to be serviced.

96 Toyota Avalon, 185000 miles, battery went dead car sat for 1 year, now the radio will not come on, has a red key luminated, cruse light flashes and will not work, and the keyless entry will not work. Is...

The radio may have a theft lock activated....unlocking it may be a pain. As for the keyless entry (assuming it's factory), make sure you start with a new battery in the remote(s) and try the steps on this page:
