Changing the cabin air filter is fairly easy to do if you follow this how-to guide. New vehicles usually come equipped with one or more cabin air filters. A cabin air filter provides fresh air through the passenger compartment side vents. Step-By-Step Guide

  1. The first thing you need to do is locate your owner's manual to find out if your vehicle is equipped with a cabin air filter. If you can't find the information, then your car is probably not equipped with a cabin air filter. However, if you would like to be sure, call your favorite parts store and they can provide you with the information.
  2. When you purchase the new cabin air filter, be aware that there are 2 types of filters. One is called the particulate; the other is called the activated charcoal. The particulate filters out road dust, bacteria, mold spores, pollen and other pollutants. The activated charcoal filters the above mentioned and filters harmful gasses and odors. People who drive around in gridlock or have an odor problem might consider buying the activated charcoal, though it is more expensive.
  3. After purchasing the filter, make sure you have your eye protection, gloves, ratchet, socket and screwdriver before beginning the procedure.
  4. Remove the glove compartment. Usually, vehicles are equipped with bolts and screws to hold the glove compartment in. Your glove compartment may have tabs as well, so be careful when removing the compartment and use the tabs to remove.
  5. After removing the bolt and the screws, remove the glove box frame.
  6. Locate the filter housing. Look for a removable plastic filter cover.
  7. Remove the filter. Most under-dash filters can be removed simply by opening the filter door.
  8. Before installing the new filter, vacuum the filter chamber to remove any excess particles. You may also take a damp cloth and wipe the inside of the air filter chamber to clean out unwanted dust and particles.

How to remove clean and replace hydraulic oil filter on a Fiat 411R PTO unit

To remove, clean, and replace the hydraulic oil filter on a Fiat 411R PTO unit, you will need to follow these steps:
  1. Locate the filter: The hydraulic oil filter is typically located on the side of the PTO unit, near the bottom. It is often mounted to the side of the unit with a bolt or a clamp.
  2. Prepare to drain the oil: Before you remove the filter, you will need to drain the hydraulic oil from the PTO unit. To do this, locate the oil drain plug or valve and place a drain pan underneath it. Then, loosen the drain plug or valve to allow the oil to drain out.
  3. Remove the filter: Once the oil has drained out, you can remove the filter. To do this, you will need to loosen the bolt or clamp that holds the filter in place. You may need to use a wrench or pliers to do this. Once the bolt or clamp is loosened, you can carefully remove the filter from the PTO unit.
  4. Clean the filter: Once the filter is removed, you will need to clean it. To do this, you can use a degreaser or solvent to remove any dirt or debris from the filter. Once it is clean, you can set it aside.
  5. Replace the filter: Once the filter is clean, you can install the new filter. To do this, simply reverse the steps you used to remove the old filter. Make sure the filter is properly seated and tightened down, and then refill the PTO unit with new hydraulic oil.
It's important to follow the manufacturer's instructions when replacing the hydraulic oil filter on your PTO unit. If you are unsure about any of the steps or have any questions, it's a good idea to consult the manual or contact a mechanic for assistance.

My nissan primera goes off at slow running. 2000model, manual,1.8 engine.

clean out the idle the idle valve on the inlet. remove and clean the unit. also replace the air filter and clean the maf/map sensor before starting engine after air filter changed as dirt from the air filter can coat the maf sensor and this will give a wrong reading to the ecu.

2003 ctdi goes into limp mode

code p0238 refers to manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor A TC system --high input===causes --wiring short to positive --MAP sensor---ECM
Replace the sensor (internal fault)
code p0102 refers to mass air flow (MAF) sensor /volume air flow (MAV) sensor --low input ===causes wiring short to ground ---MAF/VAF sensor
again the MAF is implicated as faulty

code po113 refers to intake air temperature (IAT) sensor--circuit malfunction===causes --wiring open circuit/short to positive --wiring short to ground --ground wire defective---IAT sensor---ECM

Now looking at all the codes the most common fault is wiring damaged so pay particular to the condition of the wiring loom --the condition of the connections --clean pins - pins not bent --water in the connections . IT is common that when disconnecting the units that the connection is pulled apart by pulling on the wires .. This check is the cheapest before any money is spent on the rest . Do not clean but replace because if cleaning does not produce a result you still do not know if you cleaned it properly or if it is faulty

2010 Suzuki Alto 1.0

Black crud accumulates around the butterfly in the throttle body and also in the passages of the idle air bypass. The engine is designed to catch a low idle/ higher load condition (like A/C cycling) and adjust the air that is bypassed so it wont stall. This crud buildup restricts the normal amount of air that the computer is programmed to expect. The program in the computer uses other sensors to see what is actually happening like rpm and trys to adjust. This works until the buildup becomes too much for auto adjustment. Then the car dies at idle.

Removing the throttle body and carefully cleaning these will give the engine enough air to idle. Use a new gasket when re-installing.

Remember that electronic pieces on the throttle body (like the TPS) wont like the cleaner so do whats necessary to keep the spray solvent from entering these sensors.

Where is the Air Filter Located in a 2006 ford focus . And how do you clean the Forever air Filter in the 2006 ford focus

Actually, the newer ('05+) Duratec motors have a sealed airbox. There is a meter on the side of it (positioned just behind the driver side headlight.) To qualify as a Partial Zero Emission vehicle all emissions parts are required to last for 100k miles. 100k miles is when Ford recommends replacing it. Yes... you replace the ENTIRE airbox. Often times it's more cost effective to replace the unit with a traditional cold air induction kit (~$150) with a more traditional air filter.

How do I change the air filter?

  1. Step 1 Turn the car off and leave it off while you are working on the car. Don't turn the car on while working on the air filter as it serves as a barrier in the event of an engine backfire, serious injury could occur.
  2. Step 2 Find the air filter housing unit by looking at the corner of the engine compartment, nearest the passenger side windshield. Look for a black rectangular box.
  3. Step 3 Open the lid on the housing unit by pulling on the latches. Lift the lid up and away from the base.
  4. Step 4 Remove the first filter from the housing unit. Clean out any debris left in the box. Don't use water to clean out the unit or the engine may be damaged and not covered under warranty.
  5. Step 5 Replace the filter with a K&N filter part number 33-2305 for Corvettes manufactured from 2005 to 2007.
  6. Step 6 Close the lid on the air filter housing. Reengage the clips to secure the lid in place.
  7. Step 7 Change the second air filter by following Steps 3 to 5.

What are the service interval for items on the 2006 toyota prado

For oil and filter - every 3 -5,000 miles. rotate tires at same interval. air filter is on condition, so check it at oil change and clean it until it needs replacement. trans. fluid is on condition along with filter or I believe 60k miles. Belts and hoses are every 3 years or based on condition. Get a maintenance guide from an auto parts store or go to the dealer for an owner's manual, which will have all of this information.
