Could be failed fuel pump. Disconnect fuel line at engine and turn over a couple times having something to catch gas in. If electric pump don't turn over engine, just turn key to run position for a few seconds. Maybe clogged fuel filter or faulty pump if no gas shows. Change fuel filter and try again. If none, change pump.

I have a 2001 chevy cavalier the trac off light comes and when it does the transmissons does not want to shift when it does it shifts hard when i'am driving it the car wants to lunge( just like it was a...

It is not anything with the transmission itself. it is your throttle position sensor, sometimes after driving at a steady speed and then coasting it loses its mind a little. You get the trac light and then it wont shift properly unless you shut the car off and restart it then everything is ok because the computer resets. It is fairly easy to replace.

Car wont run

The passlock anti-theft system is possibly not working properly, if the passlock thinks you are trying to start the car with anything but the key it will kill the fuel pump power within 10 seconds.
The problem may be as simple as an ignition key cylinder exchange.

Cavalier dies

you need to find the fuel pressure release around the fuel rail press the little tab when the car dies. If there is no fuel coming out from that point, your fuel pump is going.
