Well if your lucky you can replace the fuel filter add a gas stabilizer and some new gas and you might get it to go. After a car has been sitting so long the oil runs off the parts like the crank and rod bearings and could cause a dry start ruining the bearings, and after that long the gas gels and does not burn well and can plug the filter. So change the oil and filter as well as water and oil make an acid that can damage seals and engine parts.

Hi I am Vortash the most likely problem with a vehicle that has not been run for that amount of time is fuel ( fuel will not last indeffinately and looses it's ability to burn ) and or fuel filters blocked .. spark plugs coroded and inneed of replacement corrosion around the distributor cap inside not allowing spark ( I am assuming this is a petrol vehicle and not the diesel version if it is diesel then blocked injectors and filters favourite + plus bad fuel )

1/ drain off old fuel and replace with fresh .
2/ replace spark plugs or clean and re gap
3/ check all filters and repalce as needed
4/ check distributor cap and clean
( including Rotor arm )
If coil pack version ( elctronic engine management controlled ) check for spark hold 1/4 away from metal and watch for spark when cranked .
5/ if all these check out you need to have the vehicle Krypton checked for fault as it may be cam sensors or a number of failures due to being left .. Regards Vortash

Did you put fresh gas in it? Gas will go stale after a few months. Get some fresh gas and a bottle of octane booster and see if that helps.

I have a 1989 Ford f150 drive for about 30 minutes it dies out or stop and want crank for about an hour

I would unplug the gas cap when it stalls; if you hear a hissing sound, change the gas cap, because it builds up a vacuum in the tank.

P1189 is the one that I would chase on a chevy product it will cause the car to die if your having problems with your oil pressure switch. an evap or catalyst efficiency codes will not cause the car to die

Hi Cherles, I'm glad to help!

I'm not there to diagnose it properly but here's a couple thing you can try! (1) When a vehicle sits for a long period of time the gas can go bad. I would make sure the gas is not full of moisture from sitting so long. (2) OH the old years when they had points. I would take the point out and see if they are burnt if they are replace them. Start here and see if this helps. Hope this helps and have an awesome day Cherles.

2009 nissan versa stalls and stops after stop and go city driving or, 30 plus minute highway driving

Hi Kathleen, I'm glad to help!

Kathleen, I can tell you this because I work at a dealer myself and through the years when a problem comes in like yours and we can't find anything wrong its because whatever is causing the issue is not setting a code. There is only a few things that can cause a problem like yours and not set a code. (1) Fuel pumps can cause intermittent problem but will never set a code. After running for a while they will simply stop working but then after sitting a while will cool down and work fine again. (2) Exhaust issues. After the exhaust system has a lot of years and miles on it, the debris inside it can restrict the air flow and in some cases cause the vehicle to die and run poorly after a restart, but after sitting awhile the debris falls back down and the vehicle runs fine again until it happens again. NOTE: I'm not saying that either of these is your problem BUT, you have to start somewhere. Your only other option would be to let it die until the check engine light come on and then you'll know for sure it has set a code. After it sets a code then the dealer should be able to find your problem. The problem is that if its one of the issues I mentioned it will never set a code. Hope this helps and have an awesome day Kathleen.

2002 vue v6...starts and runs well however when I stop , shut off the engine, then try to start after half hour , it wont start

Lookfor a light on the dash that says SECURITY or ANTITHEFT. If you see this light, that is a sign of a failed or failing antitheft system, which will disable your vehicle. This link explains

Engine shudders and dies trying to go from a red light

The engine has an electronic module where the spark plug wires connect to. Replace this and you will see the difference. Once this module heats up it will malfunction. After cooling down the car will start up again. hope this helps.

1991 Mazda 626 DX dies suddenly after running for 10 minutes.

Hello, It sounds like an engine ignition control module gone out or a coil. They get hot and quit working after a short period of time, cool off then work again till they get hot.
Is the ignition system pointless electronic or does it have points? Are you getting any fire at all now to the cylinders? Does the tach in the vehicle show any RPM's during cranking? Do you have voltage at the positive side of the ignition coil? Does the coil meet the ohm ratings for that years vehicle ignition? Does the vehicle have oil in it so the oil pressure sensor allows the engine to run, this may not be an option on your particular vehicle? You can check most of this out with a volt/ohm meter. Check your voltages before starting the vehicle, during running and after it quits to see where the loss is. Just don't get near the center tap of the coil or you will get a rude awakening and/or serious injury. Good luck, RAC
