Possible use of the wrong fluid type or improper level. also when a transmission wears the material gets into the oil making it thicker which increases the pressure which compensates for the wear.
if the first isn't true the second is. it may relearn and adapt.

where did you get the filter and gasket changed. should take it back to them and explain the problem. they should at least take a look and try to figure it out. some of the fluid has already been changed when the pan was off. if the colour is brown or black and not bright red, then flush it. also make sure not to add any additives.

IT'S ON THE END OF THE TOP RADIATOR HOSE WHERE IT CONNECTS TO THE ENGINE. SHOULD BE 2-3 BOLTS GET NEW THERMOSTAT FIRST SHOULD COME W/GASKET. PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO POSITION OF OLD THERMOSTAT SO YOU DON'T PUT NEW ONE IN UPSIDE DOWN.
GOOD LUCK

Leak transmission fluid dodge caravan 1996

chances are it's the gasket around the tranny pan. you'll have to remove the pan, gently scrape off the old gasket (without scratching the metal surface), replace with new gasket, replace the pan. put all the screws half-way in, then tighten screws across from each other.

I have a 2001 Dodge Caravan SE 2.4L 4 cylinder motor. I had the transmission flushed almost 2 years ago and since then have put 12,000 plus miles on it. All I know is you are suppost to check the...

You need to, at the minimum, change the fluid & trans filter. Easy proceedure. With van jacked up & blocked so it won't fall, use a large collection tray under trans pan & remove pan bolts. let oil drain into tray. use screwdriver to pry pan off. clean pan thoroughly & trans matting surface. Remove filter. You may need to adjust low rev band. Check with dealer or parts store for proper clearances. Put new filter on & tighten bolt[s]. Use new gasket & rebolt pan. Use gasket sealer on pan side only. You'll need 4-8 qts. of the proper tranny oil. Fill through trans. filler hole. Start engine & let warm up, check level & don't overfill or you'll have to suction out until level.

Tranny

Chryslers need clean transmisson fuild and the right type of fuild. I would check the transmisson fuild level and top up if needed. If the fuild looks old and dirty have the transmisson serviced witha fuild and filter change - 50-100 buck could save you big $$$ on a trans job later
