SOURCE: Brake and Parking lights won't turn off, even in "OFF" position - Drains battery

Get under the dash ad look at your brake pedal lever. You will see a stop light switch that screww into a bracket with a 'button' sticking out of it. if pulling up on the brake pedal (even slightly) solves your problem, then the switch needs adjusting closer to the brake lever. If adjusting does not stop problem then replacement of brake light switch may be required.

SOURCE: brake lamp light on a 2002 Honda Accord SE

I assume you mean the one on the dash. This is an indicator that there is a problem in your braking system. Make sure it's not low on Brake fluid and have the brake system checked or check it yourself. If your going to check it yourself I recommend the Haynes repair manual on your vehicle as a reference.

ABS light stays on if car is started with parking brake engaged.

The ABS light illuminates when there is an "out of specification" condition. From your description, it sounds like your parking brake cable may require tightening, or there may be an issue where the rear brakes are not properly releasing when the parking brake is released. With car that is nearly 20 years old, it is not inconceivable that the rear brakes and parking brake assembly may require regular service.

A good first step would be to have error codes read out by a local mechanic or auto parts store. This may give you a better indication of the specific problem. In any case, ANY brake warning should be taken VERY SERIOUSLY and corrected IMMEDIATELY, as you may have a potentially dangerous potential of catastrophic brake failure. PLEASE GET THE ISSUE FIXED RIGHT AWAY!

WHATS THE IP LIGHTS INDICATOR MEAN

1dyhedmktaaid_gfzxwu=.medium.jpg
Try the parking brake release. On a car that old you MAY have a sticky parking brake cable that's partly engaged. If this is the case, it would freeze up in place and cause the sending unit for your brake light to turn on/off at random. -they use the same light for brakes and parking brakes- If your brake petal has become less firm or "spongy feeling" recently... then it's an issue with the brakes themselves.Also check your brake fluid level.

97 brake light chime

Several possibilities here, First, if your parking brake lever is even slightly engaged your brake light will be on. so check the cable and switch to make sure it is not this. Second is the brake pressure switch on the master cylinder, the switch could be bad or your lines may need bleeding. and last, unless there is a separate light for it you anti-lock brakes could have an issue, which I would recommend a qualified mech look at that.

The brake light on my dashboard has been coming on and staying on in my 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe. What does this mean?

This can mean one of a few things.First, make sure your parking brake is fully released and not even slightly engaged.Next, check your brake fluid level.A low level will trigger a brake light.which this is probably your concern.Finally, your abs(if equipped) could be failing.More than likely it is simple enough as a low fluid problem.Have all four corners checked to make sure all your brakes are up to par and you should be ok.Hope I could help.Rate me accordingly.Thanks!!

Isn't that mysterious? It took me a few weeks to figure it out. Look carefully under the break pedal. There is this device called a "break light switch". I hope that helps.
