Hi, is it the sport type or HSE ? don't you have a dipstick? if you do add oil to the engine till it shows on the dipstick, mine is 4.4L and it takes about 9Qts .

The handbook says 7.7 liters ,but with oil and filter change it's 7.2 liters

Sorry, 2004 model has 4.2 litre BMW engine which takes 9 quarts of oil. I think the 2011 model has a Jaguar engine - I do not know the amount of oil required for it.

How much oil fills a 5.0 liter v8 range rover sport
About 9 quarts. If concerned, fill to 5 quarts and measure with dip stick. Keep adding until full. Then run the engine and check oil again, fill if needed.

Most modern vehicles have the washer bottle tucked away in a 'spare' space. The Evoque has it tucked behind a headlight so to get at it the front bumper and headlight will have to be removed. I agree that its easier to pay someone else to do it!

How To Change Oil and Oil Filter on Range Rover Sport or Land Rover LR3

  • Place an oil drain pan below the oil filter and drain plug and unscrew the oil filter.
  • Lubricate the rubber seal with clean oil and install the new filter. Tighten to 13 foot-pound torque.
  • Remove drain plug in the oil pan and drain the oil. Catch the oil in the drain pan. After draining the oil install and tighten the drain plug to 18 foot-pound torque.
  • Fill engine with 5W-30 weight oil. The 4.4 V8 takes 8 quarts; the 4.0 V6 takes 6 quarts. Start engine and check for leaks.
  • Recheck level and top up as necessary.
  • Reinstall the under engine shields / skid plates.

Why my range rover classic tdi 5 speed manual the gearbox getting very hot ?
check the oil level and the type of oil in the gear box. If too much oil -that will make it hot. If too little oil -that will make it hot. IF the oil is not right viscosity -that will make it hot. get a infrared thermometer and read the gear box temperature to get an idea of the oil temperature as what feels hot on the stick may be operating temperature of the oil

It is located on the left side of the engine, rear, and an element type filter. The cap for the housing will be black and simply unscrews and once removed cap has been removed, be sure to replace the o ring also. System should hold about 7-8 quarts.
