1986 Pontiac Trans AM: how do I change back-up light bulbs?

1986 Pontiac Trans AM: how do I take off the rear light sections to change the backup light bulbs? It doesn't have screws on the outside. Do I take off the panels on the inside? Seems like they are hard to get to. Thank you.

sounds like you've been really trying, you say there is no power at the light bulb socket and you checked your switch at the transmission. did you check for power at the transmission. this will tell you if the problem is at the front of the truck or in the rear.

My backup lights will not work when i put my 2003 pontiac grand am in reverse. The bulbs are new and all the fuses are good. where is the backup light switch located?

Looks like it would be in the trans. You can go to napaonline and look it up just search for switch.Once you find it you can jumper the terminals on the harness and see if they come on or if you have a ohm meter you can check the resistance in the switch when someone puts the can in reverse.(holding the brake ignition on but not running)

Can not figure how to access bulbs on rear of my 1985 Trans Am

You have to remove the rear lenses. There should be plastic wing nuts in the hatch compartment that if you unscrew them, the lenses can be removed exposing the bulb sockets.

1995 Pontiac Sunfire Backup Lights where is the switch to activat

the switch is under the dash by the brake peddle arm. when you let off the brake it pushes switch in to turn lights off. may just be stuck, other wise it probably needs to be replaced.

S80 backup light wont work

There are only 2 things to check other than the bulbs, 1st the back up lite fuse, and the 2nd the back up light switch on the trans, if the fuse is ok replace the backup light switch.
