When you changed the valve cover gasket, did you also change the seals that go around the spark plug holes? If you did,and theres still oil getting in there, they might have moved when you installed them. If thats the case, hold the seals in place with some RTV black sealant and try it again.

I need to replace the vtec gasket on a 1997 honda accord ex. I purchased it but i need to know where does it go?

If your talking about the valve cover gasket you need to remove the valve covers to install it. That usually involves removing the spark plug wires as they go in the top of the valve cover and then removing about 8 nuts, it lifts off and you put the new gasket in and replace everything, don't over tighten the nuts.

Did you change what's call the "tube seals". It should have came with your valve cover gasket kit. 4 rings that push into the valve cover... If you did this and you still have oil, maybe your plug wires are still wet inside. Is the fuel filter very old?

My 1991 Honda Accord is dropping oil onto the hot cover in the front. Also, the service engine light soon comes on after driving about 10 to 15 minutes. What possibly can be wrong? I think the cover...

You have a bad valve cover gasket. If I remember correctly the spark plug wires go thru the valve cover? If that is true a loose valve cover will leak motor oil on the plug wires possibly causing the check engine/maint light. I would start with the valve cover and a tune up. That may solve all your issues.

My 1992 honda honda accord ex is leaking oil on the plugs after changing valve cover gasketand seals and plugs

You'll have to take the valve cover off again. There must be a piece of old gasket still under there somewhere, or your gasket isn't seated properly. Make sure the head is completely clean, and the valve cover.

I have a 95 honda accord with the non vetec motor. I recently replaced the spark plugs and valve cover gasket. After driving a couple of days, i noticed oil coming out from the back of the valve cover...

the valve cover gasket may not be seated right if you remove the valve cover check the gasket 4 damage if so replace with new one and make sure if there is a grove for the gasket to sit in that it is in all the way round , applying a little gasket glue on the valve cover befor fitting the gasket can help to keep the gasket in place when you refit to the engine

Oil around spark plugs on 1992 honda accord

Yes the oil can cause the car to lose spark, the oil leak could be caused by the valve cover gaskets around the spark openings, but 9 times out of 10 it is the spark plug tube "O" rings. The top of the valve train comes off of the head, the "O" rings are between the two halves, that will fix the oil leak.

Spark plug well filling with oil.

a new valve cover gasket and o-rings around the wells should have cured this...did you clean the old o-rings off the valve cover completely before installing new ones? this is a common problem with these models.....i would re-check my gaskets and mateing surfaces. valve cover gaskets and spark plug well o-rings are relatively low cost. the spark plug is tight, correct? write back with an update!
