Question about 2000 Ford Focus
The low pressure port is behind the passenger fender liner. Remove the right front tire so you can remove the liner.
Detach the wheel arch trim panel on the passenger's side (driver's side shown).

To access the low pressure port you have to remove the right front wheel and inner fender.

1. Does the cooling fan turn on when it over heats?
2. Check your coolant level, if it is a little low it will cool normally under transit and over heat in the conditions you are describing. Also have your coolant check for proper dilution.
3. If your cooling fan is failing to turn on you may have a coolant temperature switch issue.

It's not an easy one to find is it? I'm gonna do my best to explain its location. You need to get at it from underneath the car for starters. On the passenger side wheel well, well just to the inside of it engine side you will see the acumulator (dryer) where A/C hoses are going in. Behind the back of it slide your arm up in there (about a foot up from the bottom of the acumualtor) reach up in there. If you feel around up there you will find it. You already know and I'm sure I don't need to tell you but you still will not be able to see it. I do this for a living and the first one I can remember doing took me about twenty minutes to find so your not alone believe me. Anyhow, I hope this helps you and good luck.
