Follow the upper radiator hose to the motor. Usually it has an aluminum neck that bolts to the engine. The thermostat is under that. It is called a gooseneck. Don't forget to change the gasket too.

What makes my 01 cheavy blazer transmission winning noise

Winning? Whining? Whinge-ing?

If you are "short" of transmission oil, then the normal "meshing" of the gears will be much louder, since the there is no oil to lubricate nor to muffle the usual noise.

Dear Sir, I need help to fix engine over heating of my 1997 chevy blazer. For your additional information the engine is not over heated during running whenever I turn on the air conditioning. Thank...

Many things can be leading to an overheating issue.

Is your cooling system full of coolant and is it still good. I simple gauge can be bought to test your coolant condition.

Is the fan moving when running, if it's electric check the relays.

Another odd thing may be your thermostat is not opening.

Check things things and get back with me if this dose not solve your issue.

Good luck.

Service engine light on my 2000 cheavy blazer is on but thers no change in the performance and i just bought the factory gas cap for it i already put 4000 miles on it i hope all it needs is an oil change

I would hook up an OBD II code reader onto your OBD II port and it will tell you what is wrong with it. I doubt that a oil change will cure it but you never know. Good Luck!

It smokes alot from the hood

check your raditator hoses, water pump and your thermostat. your engine could be overheating in which the radiator fluid can't get to it to cool it off.

Lights stay on

Check the pin switches on the ends of the dash. Also if the temp gauge is low replace the thermostat. If the temp gauge reads about 190, flush the heater core.

1997 chevy malibu stopped while driving on highway, no sounds, no warnings, just quit. Anyone has a similar problem. Car will not start anymore, attemps to, but just sputters.

I had the same problem with my 2002 Cheavy Malibu. First check the fuses under the drivers side under the hood. Look in your manuel to find the location for the fuel fuse location. If that doesnt work then look at your fuel filter.
