The electrical light and oil light are on 2001 boxster s

Are they on when the car is running? If so, check your OIL asap. Don't drive it. Could be a fault since the battery light is on too (usually means a bad alternator or battery), but better to be safe than sorry

To close the top, the parking brake must be engaged and the ignition in the ON position. Assuming that these conditions are met, you can close the top manually if needed. The procedure involves (1) removing key, (2) removing convertible top link covers, (3) gently prying conv top lid links on both side, (4) lifting the conv top lid to open position, (5) gently prying the red links off, and (6) finally manually lifting the top to the closed position.

Before taking such measures, if you do not hear the motors, check the B6 and D3 relays. You might also want to check the microswitch on the top/center windshield frame.

Boxster 2001 brake lights not working

That leaves the microswitch or the wiring.Verify microswitch is working first and the check wiring continuity. The microswitch closes as you press the pedal and transfer power to brake lights.
If the microswitch is O.k then it will be the wiring that is at fault.

hope it helps.
