Question about 2007 Toyota Corolla

Installed new CD deck in 07 Corolla, may have shorted something

I just installed a Sony stereo deck in my 2007 Corolla S. Before putting the a/c+storage compartment and the bevel around the shifter back in place (and before reconnecting the A/C panel things), I hooked the battery back up temporarily to check my connections to the deck. At that time, when I turned on my headlights the deck would dim and my dash would illuminate as normal. I disconnected the battery and put everything back in place and now when I turn on my headlights my dash will not light up, nor will the A/C panel or automatic shifter lights (P,R,D,N, so on), and the CD deck does not dim. What did I do?

When I was connecting my Toyota harness with the wires from the stereo, I merged the Toyota ones for Illumination and Dimmer, because the stereo only had one for illumination. The thing is, it worked before I put everything back in place.

First check the illumation fuse which to toyota its the panel fuse, check if it is blown. if not take the aftermarket wire harness u wired in with the radio harness and disconnect the orange wire (illumation wire) and see if u have lights again. sometimes the aftermarket orange wire won't work with toyota vehicles. good luck

well then must have blown a fuse somewhere check all your fuses under the dash and under hood, b/c the i think there is about 4 fuses that tie in with the radio. best to use a test light best ground inside the car is the door striker and under the hood of course the battery ground. good luck

Sony xplod stereo wiring diagram

Yes you need to turn on the BOSE amplifier in the car to hear the sound. The wiring diagram is actually on top of the factory radio
You will need a 12v trigger to turn the amp on. this is assuming you have all the speaker (inputs) connected to the output from your new deck.

Corolla 1998 stereo, lighter, boot and roof light, door remote not working

I would be concerned that you may have wired the stereo incorrectly, causing this shorting problem. I suggest that you take it to a stereo installer to check the wiring, as if it is wired correctly the stereo should at least light up with a new fuse in there. Unless the new fuse blew straight away when you put it in. The central lock is likely to be thrown off by the fact that the interior light isn't working, as it uses this input to figure out if the doors are open or shut. Check interior light fuse condition, and get the wiring you've done checked, would be my advice.

1998 Corolla Radio problem/replacement

ok... the 98 corolla (that i know of) only comes equipped with the tape deck and radio, you probably have a after market radio, these are easy to replace, you can buy any standard cd player to replace yours, even if the wiring harnesses dont match up right, i offer a diagram for the colors and labels on my tips, its fairly easy to do, check it out and good luck!
