Look for a bleeder on ABS HCU unit- the one with brake tubing

Drive it & then Bleed again

Have to hear the abs pump come on,check fuse for it

If that doesn't work may have to open the
hcu with an obd1 scan tool & bleed

Have a 1993 dodge Caravan SE. Purchased it from a man which converted it from ABS to hydraulics. I didn't know it had brake problems till i got it running. He put on a 3 outlet 2 inlet proportional...

if something goes wrong with abs the brake system it reverts back to standard system!! If you can pump brake pedal up and hold it and start engine and it drops thats normal. You say low pedal if you go 15mph on road and check where pedal is when brakes apply.Power brakes will push aLMost to floor while stopped but while moveing you`ll almost go to slide or will go into slide if pedal is pushed to floor.Get on some gravel at 10 mph and hit brakes to a complete stop get out and check to see if all 4 tires slid or 2 front or only 2 rear. this will get you closer to problem good luck.

88 t-bird non abs. the front brakes drag. i have replaced all rubber lines also new master cyl. new front brake calipers. rear brake hose preasure will bleed of after it has set for 15 to 20 min.can...

This is bizarre... I'm suspecting dirt in line(s). Are you bleeding correctly? Starting w/ Right rear, left rear, right front, then left front. You might try using a power bleeder also. A possible long shot, is brake proportioning valve sticking.

I have 1990 lsc and i just put a new battery in it and now it is dead . does it have a dead short

If nothings is staying on and the batt still goes dead just sitting. pull the abs fuse, these sys are a problem. the abs pumps stay on and kill the batt. you should here a vib by the master cyc. and you might have a abs light on. remember when you pull the fuse the abs sys will not be working , you will have brakes just not abs. one part to fix it costs around 200.00 dollars the other part is around 1200.00. hope this helps

Replaced power boster master cylinder and brakes and the brakes are still spongy

Indicates air still in the system. I suggest that you start at the master cyl, remembering to keep it full during & after each attempt at bleeding the system and to only fill it by using a funnel & allowing the brake fluid run down the side to eliminate new air being put into the system.

Bleed the master cylinder first by loosening those lines while someone has pumped up the system & is holding the pedal to the floor. Make sure your assistant is not releasing the brake pedal before you are tightening the lines and that all brake pedal movement is done slowly, especially releasing the brake pedal. It causes fluid to rise into the air, bring air back into the fluid.

Next, go to the farthest brake away from the master cylinder & bleed it, working yourself to the next farthest until you finish with the closest brake. This prevents air from switching lines on you during the process.

If there are no leaks & you have followed this method, there shouldn't be any air in the system & your brakes should be good.

good luck

Abs brake light on, brake light too, hard pedal, new pads and good rotors, no pressure to rear calipers? Fluid level went low, somewhere, than came back, overflowing after filling. No body can find parts...

actually you may not need to replace any parts. from what you are explaining on the vehicle you have a air lock in your brake lines. try and bleed the brakes again starting from the rear passenger than the drivers passenger than the passengers front and last the drivers front. than disconnect the negative battery cable for about 5 min to reset the lights and see what happens. please let me know if you need more assistance with this problem.
please do not forget to rate and comment about your expereince with fixya today.

Replaced the brake hose drivers side. Old hose exploded. Now I am unable to get brake pressure after several attempts to bleed the brakes.

IF IT HAS ABS U HAVE TO HAVE A SCAN TOOL TO ACTIVATE THE ABS PUMP.NON-ABS START AT THE MASTER CYLINDER AND BLEED THOSE LINES FIRST.THEN RIGHT REAR,LEFT FRONT,LEFT REAR & RIGHT FRONT IN THAT ORDER.STILL PROBLEMS U MAY HAVE A BAD BRAKE MASTER

Sometimes brakes goes to the floor .

if you suddenly loose brakes like that it usually an air block in main pipes, or badly overheated fluid, either way you will have to replace all fluid out of system by bleeding one at a time.
