Daihatsu applause intermittent engine problem

- Ha, no such luck. now the car is overheating, and with the thermostat taken out, the water is bubbling in the reservoir. I suspect head gasket problems, even though i replaced it about 12 months ago. I'v done nothing but spend money on the car, but its still the same. I'm only keeping it because I can't afford to buy another car at the moment.

- Ok, iv fixed my head gasket issues and solved the overheating problem. Still no success on the engine light issue however. I have tried cleaning the air filter, have soaked the O2 sensor (came up very shiny, and a lot of crap came out of it), have tried disconnecting the charcoal filter, and still no results. I found someone else on fixya who has the same problem. He tried replacing computer, distributor, fuel pump, cleaned out his lines and tank, replaced pump relay, had the throttle sensor inspected and adjusted, coolant temp sensor, plugs, leads, oil, fuel filters. Sounds like a common problem with applauses, and nobody can find answers.
