Question about 1989 Isuzu Trooper

I think i may have slight water damage

I went mudding in my 1989 isuzu trooper and got it stuck its a manual transmission and my cousin and i tried to get it out but it wouldnt crawl out so i think that when we shut it off and then when we started it back up water and mud might have gotton sucked up in the exhaust and someone told me that to clear all the moisture out i should spray WD40 in the distribtor cap along with a tune up(my plugs caps and wires) and i wasnt sure where the distributor cap was.....this is my only vehicle and it runs horrible right now and it struggles to get past 2000 RPMs and it also has a huge miss in it

The distributor cap is on the top of the distributor. the distributor is located on the side of the engine and it is where the spar kplug wires are attached. take the cap off of the top and then you can go ahead and clean it.

Where to check tranny fluid, cant find dipstick??

1999 Isuzu Troopers w/automatic transmissions do not come with a dipstick. It is a sealed transmission just like a manual transmission. The fluid must be checked by removing the fill plug. Emergency brake on, engine running, warmed up ,vehicle in neutral. When removing the fill plug ,which is on the side of transmission- at the top, fluid should slightly drip out. If fluid doesnt drip out you need to add fluid. You will need a small hand pump to fill it.

Short answer: You can't swap engines. The wiring and control modules are not interchangeable, and the transmissions may not bolt up.

Im swapping the fuel injection to carburation on my 89 isuzu trooper. 2.6 4cyl. im stuck on the electrical portion of this project.

WHY..... do you want a carb. A 2.6 never came with a carb. So theres no distibutor with mechanical advance. I dont think you can do it.

1989 Isuzu troop temp gauge goes straight to hot when key turned

there is a sending unit for the guage.but if it has been running a few minutes and gets hot you may need to check the thermostat or water pump.check the water pump by taking the radiator cap off.then start the vehicle, look into the radiator and see if any coolant is flowing or the cheapest fix first

When I make a hard turn either right or left the front end makes a clunking sound.

Not a solution, but I'm experiencing the exact same problem! I brought by 1996 Isuzu Trooper (129,000mi) to a Firestone auto service place and they spent TWO HOURS trying to ID the problem. No luck. HELP, anyone?
