Car won't start, wait 15 min. will start but kinda backfires.

My mom has a 1995 chevy caprice classic v8 265 4.3 L
Car starts and runs fine. This is the fourth time that
the car has not started. But runs and starts good most
of the time. She drove about 8 miles, went
in grocery and came out and it wouldn't restart.
Waited about 15 minutes and went back and it
started, but kinda backfired.

Sounds like your car has jumped time. Which means the timing belt has worn teeth. Another possibility is you have an intqke valve not sealing or stuck open. Either way it wouldnt run or run extremly rough
