If you mean the gearbox oil then it goes in under the left front wing there is a tin cover on the end of the gear box with a 18/19mm bolt in it remove the bolt on flat ground and top up oil untill it runs out the hole where you removed the bolt from.

If it is a petrol engine you will see a black cap with a hose coming out of it on the fount of the engine it can be very hard to remove so you will have to pull firmly but don't be rough as you don't want to break the filler tube ( there should be a picture of a oil can on it)

Can i use Synthetic oil for Peugeot 405 ?

You can if you want i do believe that oil is owners discretion most oils are that way this particular oil suitable for higher mileage however i have seen some cars develop leaks after use that is why i say owners discretion. The regular oils today a re far advanced as they were 10 years ago.

I need to know what sort of oil my peugeot 405 GRD (1989) uses please. I'm a bit cartech useless 8-/

being diesel and its age i would recommend using a 10/40 or if its burning oil,say a pint every 1000 miles then use 20/50 most of the multigrades will be petrol and diesel.

Look on valve cover. You may be looking for a flat circle cover or a typical oil cap.

Peugeot 405 oil blows out of the oil filler

yes their is a breather pipe but if its that bad then either its completly blocked or you need a engine rebuild. The breather is on the front of the engine with a pipe running to the air intake and the dip stick is in the top

Engine oil

On my 405 1.9td there are two clips where the dipstick unit is. I remove the cap and then fill the oil there.
