check the brake light switch. it is located under the drivers side of the dash on the lever the brake pedal is attached to. If the switch is stuck in the on position it will cause all of the symptoms you have described.
This could mean a wheel speed sensor has failed. You can jack up each wheel one at a time, backprobe the wheel speed sensor and check for ac voltage using a voltmeter while spinning wheel. Whatever sensor does not put out voltage, replace. Thanks
Your brake light switch is broken. The switch has a spring that is supposed to disengage the switch when you let off the brake pedal, it's either stuck, or broken. A new brake light switch should resolve your issue.
I hope this helps you, and I wish you luck on your repair.
Change the brake light switch on the brake pedal arm. Go down to the
parts store and ask for a new brake liight switch for your Pathfinder
and look up under the dash where the brake pedal arm goes and you will
see the switch. You will need to unplug the wires to your old one and
disconnect it and install the new one the same way. It is pretty much
self adjusting once the brake pedal is released. If the brake light
does not go out adjust the switch pin to be longer so it will depress
when the pedal is released
