Expansion valve is close to the evaporator. flushing agent can be run through the lines but must be completly dry before assembly. it's not really needed unless something got in there.

A/c expansion valve

ac expansion valve (TX ) valve is located on the inlet side of the evaporator under the dash
it is what controls the rate at which liquid is allowed to escape to turn to gas and so cause the cooling process.
they are known to block at the orifice as it is very small or the thermostat will not control the liquid flow to the tx valve

Chevy malibu 2005 3.5 a/c orface tube location

Yours has a

thermal expansion valve (TXV). no orifice tube . look at fire wall where the a/c pipes go in look for this part .

The thermal expansion valve is located in the liquid line between the condenser and the evaporator. The thermal expansion valve is the dividing point for the high and the low pressure sides of the A/C system. As the refrigerant passes through the thermal expansion valve, the pressure of the refrigerant is lowered. Due to the pressure differential of the liquid refrigerant, the refrigerant will begin to vaporize at the thermal expansion valve. The thermal expansion valve also meters the amount of liquid refrigerant that can flow into the evaporator.

Trying to find expansion device on 06 dodge megacab diesel

If you are referring to orifice tube,(takes the place of the expansion valve for the air conditioner) then it is made in the liquid line, and the whole liquid line would have to be replaced.

Where is the orifice tube on a 98 Buick LeSabre located?

not exactly sure but using info below you can find it.

Remember the flow for the a/c system is :
1. From the compressor a high pressure (HP) gas goes to the condenser in front of the radiator.
2. From the condenser a HP liquid goes to an expansion device (orifice tube or expansion valve)
3. From expansion device the low pressure gas enters the firewall to the evaporator.
4. From evaporator the low pressure liquid/gas mixture goes through the dryer2_bing.gif back to the compressor suction.

There will be about a 1" nut on the low pressure line between the firewall and the compressor. Remove nut and on the male side use a pair of kneedle nose pliers and remove orifice tube. Note orientation of tube.

Replace tube, reassemble, evacuate air from system, recharge with freon.

99 Toyota Tacoma a/c reads high pressure on low pressure side

Does the compressor run?
Low side could be high without a running compressor.

A running compressor?
The expansion valve itself is about $50 and bolts in.
You will have to remove the 134a gas before installing a replacement expansion valve and vacuum the system before recharging.

I think you may have a clogged orifice tube (possible compressor failure starting) this can be checked with a system pressure test.
When an expansion valve or block fails, always replace the drier. Also flush the condenser and liquid lines.
