Power Drive light came on and is still on

The power drive indicator light on the dash started staying on today. What is it? I looked in the manual and the pages given have nothing on this problem.

How about a worn out battery?

Is it more than 4 or 5 years old ?

When you have these auto parts stores & chain storeplaces look at thing for free or whatever, they don't really get to the heart of any diagnostics

That word is thrown around with no understanding
All they do is look for generic codes

No help in my opinion. You need a dealer or good repair shop
to go on a test drive with you & then really start component testing

You so called computer, which is a micro processor, seldom fail
and nothing ever points to anything

Testing system components is the answer

I bought a 1987 chevy C3500 w/350ci engine. When I start driving it the engine is really weak and the "choke" light on the dash always stay on. The power gradually increases as I drive the truck. Aft

The choke light is connected to the choke and the oil pressure switch.
The choke coil is heated electrically and from the engine heat to make it open.
The heater could be faulty and the choke is not opening fast enough.
It may have had a Rochester Quadrajet when new.

Power steering loss without warning while driving. this occurred 3 times on my way home today

Possible that the steering servo is not activating, check the drive to see if the assistance has stopped - if electrical motor assist or if the belt is loose on the hydraulics pump in the main drive.
Does any indication come up on the dash board- as warning light.

All power works but no turn over, tried jump starting and looked for loose connections

1. Make sure car is in park, or if manual transmission, you have clutch engaged. Check to make sure no anti-theft lights are on.
2. Confirm that your battery is good and has the needed power to turn the engine over. (I replaced my battery today...I had lights, etc too) Try jumping the car and if it starts, you have a bad battery.
3. Confirm ignition swithc works. Turn it to position 1 and see if all lights on dash light up as normal.
4. If you hear a clicking sound when you try to start the car, it indicates a bad starter solenoid.
5. If none of these two items (and assuming cables are tight and good as you said), then the starter is probably bad.

Tail lights and dash lights

You'll have to read through your owners manual. For some time Auto makers have been putting your taillights on the same fuse as your dash lights as an automatic indicator that they are out. I would read through your owners manual and decided where and what fuse will supply power to the taillights and dash lights. If indeed all fuses in connection with the dash lights are good I would suspect the automatic starter.
