No spark, check the distributor center wire and the coil output for spark.
Hope this is helpful.

Your chipped key is not making a good connection to your factory installed anti-theft device. Lightly grease both sides of car key with electric bulb grease and work it into key ignition. Over time the key wears down, contacts in ignition switch become worn and corroded. Grease makes better contact...chipped key is able to send signal to factory anti-theft device which unlocks all systems required to start you engine. Make sure the key you are using is a chipped key for your car; not a un-chipped cut key from the key cutting machine. It will work on locks, but only a chipped key for your car will deactivate your anti-thief and you get power to your engine and systems to get it started.

I have a 95 Chevy 1500 truck 4by 4 and I can't get it to start I tried everything it seems like it wants to start but nothing what could it be

well if it won't start it won't start...because your engine has lost 1 of 3 things that make it run: gas, spark, and compression. Don't tie yourself into knots over what it could be. Do the basics first. 1.Check that the engine is getting gas into the cylinders.
2.Check that the spark plugs in the cylinders are getting ignition current to make blue snapping sparks when tested.
3.If you have both spark and gas to all cylinders, you should do a compression test of the cylinders to know there is enough compression in the cylinders to make it run. Without good compression readings from all cylinders, no amount of money thrown at it will make the engine run better, you have to do mechanical repairs to the engine that restores compression first.

Most times, sudden no starts are gas or spark related. Check those first. Happy Holidays.

Cranks but wont start. Ran ok when I left the house then died. Used and HEI spark tester. Checked cylinder, no spark. Tested cylinder 3, spark and it started. Turned engine off, put the plug wire back on...

Check the fuel pump relay. As you are cranking the engine, you should hear a whinny sound of fuel being pumped into the injectors. Interval would be about 5 seconds. If you don't hear this sound, relay is shot. You can try swapping the relay of the same number with another function to try to start normally.

Prob with honda prealude runs when it wants to will start fine one min then u turn it off and it wont start seems like no fire to cioil

what engine?
fails hot engine, or cold engine and what engine of the many?
seems dont work in repairs.
ever do a tuneup ever?
sinces it sometimes runs we can check off bad engine. of the 4.
here they are. NO STARTS:
1: loss of 12vdc electric power to the EFI system. (dash lights dim?)
2: bad engine (skip this)
3: bad spark , seems is not an option here, we test all spark at all cylinders using a good new test spark plug.
Its a honda, and we check timing, too,, using , a timing light.
if the spark is good and timing is bad, then the timing belt slipped
if it slips more, the valve in the head bend. end of motor.
sometimes no starts, saves the engine, from itself. so i do spark 100% or better, on all honda's, i do a cylinder leak down test by hand
so i dont MAKE IT WORSE. (it's and interference engine)
4: bad fueling, flooding or starvation, readling spark plug tips tells me
which it is.

3.0L & 3.2L is Non-Interference , no engine stated. so ....

1998 SATURN 4 DOOR DOHC JUST REPLACED THE HEAD GASKET MYSELF WHICH WENT FINE. BOUGHT NEW SPARK PLUGS AND I HAVE THE CORRECT FIRING ORDER BUT FOR SOME REASON 2 OF THE SPARK PLUGS ARE NOT GIVING ENOUGH

Are you saying the engine will not crank, or not start ?
If you think two of the cylinders are not getting spark, something may have happened to the coil pack or the crank-cam sensors.
If all 4 plug wires are getting spark, two of them may be on the wrong cylinders. The firing order is not always the same as the plug wire layout.

My Blazer will turn over, but won't start. Engine locked up when I was driving it and it died. No Knocking, has frequent oil changes. All fluids full in vehicle, no blown fuses. Truck seems to shake...

If the timing chain jumped or broke you will have no or low compression. Is there spark at the coil? If so is there spark at 2 or more cylinders at the spark plug? Can you here the fuel pump come on when you first turn on the key? Distributor cap and rotor is very common with that Flat cap.

What coul be keeping my 1986 honda civic from starting? The plugs all spark, the fuel pump gives gas to the carb, Ive changed all plugs cap and rotor and have tried spraying starter fluid directly into...

It cranks really good sputters a little and makes some loud pops but it will not turn over? FYI:Cranking and turning over are the same thing. When was the last time it ran. The gas could be bad. Did you get new plug wires as well. Try testing the distributor, remove a spark plug, plug it back into the wire, and touch the threads to ground and crank the engine. It should spark. Keep your fingers away, that's high voltage. Remove all spark plugs, spray some starting fluid in each cylinder, then crank the engine with the plugs out. This will clean any debris from the cylinders. Engines need backpressure to run properly, a major exhaust leak hence the popping, could cause it to not run. If you can get it started try to keep it going, full throttle, keep in the starting fluid, it could just need to get warm. I used to have one of them and they don't like it when they're cold.

My 2001 saturnsc2 turns over just fine but it won't fire to start

Check the coils at the front of the engine you should have 2 for a 4 cyclinder and 4 for a six cylinder. Sounds like you are not getting spark

1990 Subaru Legacy shorted out the ignition coil. I replaced it and in less than 1 mile,it shorted out the new one.

Subaru engines (including Legacy and engines of many other automobiles, GM, etc.) have returned to so-called wasted spark ignition systems since advent of the electronic distributor-less ignition (having been used historically in early engines with magneto ignitions). With this approach, the ignition systems are less expensive and usually quite reliable. At the same time, however, a shorted spark plug (cracked or carbon clogged, etc.) (or bad ignition spark plug wire) grounds both the ignition spark and the false spark being used. This means that it also grounds the corresponding respective ignition spark of the other 180 degree out of phase cylinder (that uses the same the same coil because the spark current is connected to the spark plugs of two cylinders). Since such a defect allows more current to flow in the spark coil to two plugs when the resistance of the spark plug gap disappears due to a cracked plug, etc, it seems likely to hasten coil burn out if the spark plug/plug wire defect is not corrected before installing the new spark coil.

To explain further, wasted spark means that when a cylinder is ready to fire, it gets a spark to its spark plug while part of the spark (from the same coil and current) as a sort of copy is also sent to another cyclinder at the same time but when the piston in that cylinder is exhausting its ignited gases 180 degrees out of phase from when its spark is needed. When the second cylinder is ready to fire and receives its "spark, the first cyclinder the also receivesa "wasted" spark "copy" of the one needed by the second cylinder. Economy is achieved in manufacture because otherwise electronics would have to turn on and off four different spark coils to distribute four different sparks as needed to the four cylinders. With wasted sparks (which are cheap), because the spark current of one coil is connected (internally in the ignition coil unit) to two cylinders that are in the same position but 180 degrees out of phase in firing, the system can turn on and off two spark coils twice as fast with half the electronics and fire two cylinders that are 180 degrees out of phase. A four cylinder engine thus uses only two coils, a six cylinder engine, three coils, etc., in a wasted spark system.
