Question about 2001 Nissan Sentra

1 Answer

I have a 2001 Nissan Sentra and 2 months ago I found a bolt that came from a spot which seems to be close to the AC compressor (I assume that it keeps the compressor still), and after that every time I start the car, the belts squeak and when I turn my AC on its even louder, after 30 seconds without AC and one minute with AC the noise is gone. I put belt dressing on the belts, the noise is shorter but still persists. I have 125000 miles on it, no problems so far. Who has the same problem and maybe a solution to share with me? Thank you.

I lost the bolt somewhere on the interstate. It was loose but then suddenly it disappeared (the bolt), I assume it felt, I will try to find a mechanic to take a look and I will change the belts too. Thanks guys for your cooperation. Bye!!!

Sounds like the belt is just too loose or the belt might be wore out. when it slips it squeals. when you turn on your A/C it slips alot more making it squeal louder. Hope this helps...

I have a 2001 nissan sentra, and it seems to have a common 2001 nissan sentra problem. i went to start her about 2 months ago, and she fired right up. drove around, went home and she sat til the next day....

Go over it, check the air filter, fuel filter, make sure your key isn`t bent. bent keys off set the chip and the car cant read it. next time take out the key and turn it around and try it again. let me know.

I have a 2001 nissan sentra 1.8 with 158,000 miles. Problem started a month ago,no heat while idling but when revved up or driving would have heat. Changed thermostat, bled system from bolt above thermostat...

unfortunately these engines are known for this condition and for head gasket failure.with engine cold pressurize cooling system with spark plugs removed.look down into holes with flashlight after about ten minutes.....im betting youll see a puddle of coolant on piston...usually its cyl# 2 or 3.i cant think of any other possibility for system repeatedly airlocking other than a head gasket.good news they are probably one of the easier ones to replace.

How do you change ac compressor on a 2000 nissan sentra

hook the high and low sides of the ac to a evac/recharge machine at a repair shop and evacuate the freon. apply a vacuum to the lines. measure how much oil comes out. disconnect the two aluminum lines from the ac pump, remove the serpentine belt, remove the (probably) 4 small long bolts. remove and install new part. reattach lines. do NOT overtighten lines. recharge ac refrigerant to specified ammount. if the pump is new you will have to measure how much oil comes out of it and put in that much oil in the new pump or it will burn up. if you dont have a evac/recharge machine they cost around 3000 dollars.

Nissan Sentra 2001 gxe with code p0420

You will need a new catalytic convertor assembly. Yours is below treshold efficiency in other words its "no good".If you have it replaced, ask the garage/dealer to give you the old one back. Its worth some cash if its full. It doesn't matter thet it failed. They are going after the mesh inside of it and that is worth some $$$$. May not be much , but better than nothing.

Why is the ac air conditioning not cooling

Could be low on freon, could be a bad compressor, could be a bad expansion valve, could be..... Get it checked out to find out for sure.
