Remove negative cable from battery, connect a test light to negative terminal, opposite end off light to negative battery post. ( let sit for 3 to 5 minutes). Then start pulling fuses, when the light goes out that's your bad circuit. God-Bless! Its worth a try.
I'm not a car mechanic, but, it sounds like you might want to check the fuse to the ignition switch, and, if that fails, it might be a problem with the Start Safety Switch on the transmission. Good luck.
Hi Linda, I'm glad to help!
If I'm reading you message right, your cars battery is going dead and you must jump start it to get it to run. Here's the thing, a cars battery and alternator can be just fine. BUT, the system can still have a draw coming from somewhere that can draw all the power out of the battery and thats why you need to jump it. This can happen intermittantly as well making it almost impossible to find the draw. If this is whats happening then your mechanic will need the vehicle for awhile to find the draw. I'm not there so its hard for me to say this is whats going on, but it's a good place to start diagnosis. Hope this helps and have an awesome day Linda!
possible but my money is on a bad battery. have a load test done on the battery. I suspect that the over heating problem is not completely fixed as water pumps will still pump water as long as they can be turned . Probably all that was done was to tighten the drive belt . Unless the pump seal was worn out and you were loosing coolant.. Clicking noise when trying to start is bad connection or dead battery.
try jumping if it jumps or you get power from a jump its your battery it can die over night this is common runs good one day then will not do it the next i would start there first if it turns over after a jump that is your problem.Replace the battery most batteries only last up to 18months
If it cranks good but won't start, have a helper crank it while you check for spark at the spark plugs. If you have spark everywhere, use a gage and check proper fuel pressure. Also, check fuel injector pulse. Check everything with engine cranking. If your missing all three, check your crank sensor. Can you check applicable trouble codes?
If your saying the starter motor won't even crank the engine, that is a different issue?
Its the Battery. These cars Batteries sit at the Factory for who knows how long before Installation. Have even seen Dealers with quick Chargers on the Semi-Truck Transports charging Batteries so they could Unload!
