Question about 1998 Lexus ES 300
Just passed the 82K mile mark, and about 15 mins after a car wash, my check engine light came on. Popped hood and noticed that the coolant resev was low, so topped off with distiled water. It sucked in half of what I added, but its holding at current level. Trying to figure out what else would cause the light to come on without having to get railed by the dealer. Due for an oil change but level is fine.
Thanks for the suggestions/help
With out scanning the PCM you will not be sure of what the problem is. It may be as simple as the fuel cap is loose.
Most parts stores have scanners that can help. Be carefull I suggest Advanced Auto or Napa.
