Check fuel pressure at injector rail. It should be at least 45psi.
If it is low replace fuel filter. If pressure is still low you will need a new fuel pump.
Dirt from the bottom of the fuel tank may have burned the pump or blocked filter.

You need to get the engine trouble codes by performing the "keydance" or using a code reader, then start checking fuel pressure at pump and regulator. Best luck. Amclaussen.

1996 chevy silverado 350vortec start and idle good, but when driving 30-40 when i push down on the gas it bogs down and act like it wont to cut off.

Check your fuel pressure because that sounds like a weak fuel pumpor clogged fuel filter. The fuel pressure should be 60-66 psi with the key on and engine off.

The car was running fine, it hesitated once, then about a half a mile later it began to have no power wnd when I gave it gas it would bog down. Then it died and would not start. I have got it to start...

it sounds like your fuel pump may have gone out disconnect the fuel line at the fuel filter or the fuel rail which ever is easier to get to, then try to start the car if fuel does not spray from the line you will know that it is the problem.

First of all, If you recently bought gas from a place you've never been to before, drain out the old gas, and put in a fresh tank from somewhere you trust. You may have water in the tank. After that, if that doesn't solve the problem, or you trust the place you bought from, go ahead and check all your external gas filters. If that doesn't solve it, I think that's when you're right: It's either the fuel pump, or the fuel filter, and in modern vehicles, both are in the gas tank, and both are very difficult to get at.

2002 Chevy Silverado ran out of gas, now won't start!

If you have a schrade valve on the fuel rail, you can turn the key on and carefully depress the valve to bleed most of the air out of the system (valve is inside an aluminum or plastic cap similar to those found on your air conditioning system) You don't have a carb on there you have a throttle body...you can spray carb cleaner (not either) into it while cranking and it may help.
Sometimes though, a marginal fuel pump will give up when run dry of fuel. If pump cannot be heard with key on, check fuse and relay...if good, pump may have expired. also, make sure filter is able to flow fuel before replacing pump.
