I have had a Brake Malfunction light on it has been flashing along with a warning ping on the truck. The check engine light is on..When I plug my code reader in to the port I get no read...I tried a different reader and no info..The horn fuse has been blowing after only a couple of honks if not one..I changed that today to try and see if I could get a read from the port in case it was linked some way and when doing that..I pulled out the larger 60 AMP fuse for the ABS..look at it..and plugged that back in when it looked fine....the ABS light came on inside and stayed on till I turned the car off and cranked it back up..then..I turned it off..and came back 15 minutes later to leave and the truck would not start...just got a ticking like a drained battery. After that I hooked up another car to jump..but no luck...Now when I turn the key all I get is the maint req light. I tried turning the lights on but no luck here either. I THINK there is probably a short..where to start..So on top of that..about an hour later..my Prius killed..but thats another matter entirely..great day...

- Ok...what a GOOFY bunch of circumstances.  I play with some FUSES...and then the truck won't start..I start thinking battery issue... but I have an electrical engineer standing next to me..albeit one that doesnt speak english..and he say not the battery..yada yada..of course later I smell the rotten eggs and I realize..it is the battery..so got a new battery..car starts..moral to that story..don't trust someone's advice about electrical stuff no matter how much they know..if they dont work on cars much.. THAT along with the fact I had been playing with fuses led me down the wrong path..
Also..on the OBD-II port(scuse me if I named it wrong....the diagnostic port) I finally changed a cigarette lighter fuse that was blown and walla! that fixed it..showed no codes...SO....I still have the problem of the Brake Malfunction light flashing and giving me a PING when I go over 5 miles an hour. That showed up when my AUTOLAMPS quit working..so I am PRETTY SURE those are related..maybe its another FUSE...I am about to run out and pull some more and check em...I have some needle nose pliers which should make it easier..that friggin fuse puller that comes in the fuse box SUX.
I havent tried the horn much..I wonder if having gotten that blown cigarette lighter fuse if that will have solved it..I think the horn fuse may blow to let you know the port is not functioning..but what do I know..haha.I will check that too.

- its amazing how pulling the parking brake stopped that godawful pinging...it also restored my autolamps and got the brake malfunction light to stop flashing..apparently I had nudged the emergency brake just enough to make it warn...but...it gave no noticeable drag on the car...
