SOURCE: engine power loss
Can you hear the turbo spooling up? If yes do you hear an air noise... could a number of things from bad turbo, air to air leaking or its piping, or something simple like a clogged fuel or air filter.

I had the same problem on a 94 dodge with the cummins. It seems the crank sensor that reads from a notch on the harmonic balancer was the problem Without this sensor reading that the engine is running the alternator wont charge. Possibly the same problem with yours

Check for a diagram either on or around your engine or on the underside of the hood of your truck and if not there then you need to either buy a chiltos autoguide for the make, model and year if your truck but check it out first and see if there is ,one in the places I suggested or even near you r trucks radiator or on the side.
