When you turn on the AC in all the cars the temp goes up, it should go half the way to H, not more than that.
Check the coolent level i am sure that is going down. I see no other reason why the it should heat. As you have already changed what is required and made sure it is working fine.
One more thing get the water pump checked that also could be one reason.

Let me know

Thanks
Kevin

Why would 2002 ford ranger 3.0L temp guage stay on extreme cold after water pump replacement?

i would think there is an air lock in the coolant system , have you run the engine whilst at stand still and opened the heater control to the hot position and leave to run for 10 mins or so , let cooldown then check coolant level

It would appear your thermostat is stuck in the closed position , find where it is on your engine, drain coolant and remove thermostat housing and stat, replace housing(liquid gasket OK) and coolant. now run engine, turn heater controls to hot leaving filler cap off, top up any water to max and replace cap now warm up to temp until fan comes on. if all ok replace thermostat with a new one and new gasket, you could also flush the sytem out at the same time with a hose pipe by loosening one of coolent pipes and flush radiator.

Drained radiator added prestone Radiator flush refilled and started overheating, drained radiator replaced thermostat and now I get no heat from heater,Radiator water is hot

disconnect the heat hoses going into fire wall , put hose into one with pressure and flush as it sounds like it could be bloked in the heater core,the other thing that could be the problem be the hot ,cold switch as it restricts the flow to makes the heater hoter or colder , it might need tlc or replacing as it is manaul not elec

When the temperature outside is hot and I'm running the air, the temperature gauge starts moving into the hot zone. If I turn off the air, it goes back to normal. I've had it worked on several...

make sure that the coils, ( the ac radiator ) are clean , blow them out with an air hose if you can get a hold of one, also, make sure the ac fan is coming on, it may start , but the sensor may be bad allowing it to turn off too soon , a normal rise in heat is expected when using the AC but if it is too hot you should feel the motor start to run rough, if its running fine, and the temp does move back to normal when the ac is turned off, and a qualified mechanic has checked it, your probably ok, you could have a sensitive gauge, , If the normal range of the gauge moves to hot and back during normal driving without the ac on, that would show the thermostat is also working

Running hot at certain times the coolant is not holding and when you turn ac on it tends to run hotr

flush the radiator, by the way turning on the AC will make it run hotter since the pump has to engage and thats more strain on the motor, use a 50-50 mixture of water and antifreeze in your system, check the thermostat , replace it if its rusty or looks bad, also check the cap, if its not allowing the pressure to be released to the over flow, it will build up heat also , when the motor seems to heat up, turn on the heater and if you have a gauge see if the temp drops, doing that allows the heater core fluid to be able to flow to the motor also, and at times will help cool it down,

Teperature gauge running hot and heater not working

If the car is hot and the heater blows cold air your thermostat is stuck shut or your radiator is really low on water/antifreeze check when engine is cold hasn't been ran like overnight take off the radiator cap and if it is low add so antifreeze/water if heater still blows cold air or water level is ok your thermostat is stuck shut and needs to be replaced.

Runs hot and hearter not blowing hot air

a heater uses the temperature of the cars water, running threw a heat exchanger if the heater core has failed water will not circulate threw the engine properly this will and can cause over heating as well as nothing blowing from the heater. good luck.heater cores are generally inexpensive parts to replace.

last thing you can check if heater core is ok. is the thermostat.

Hello;
Could be a combination of things. First replace the thermostat with a new one. Then backflush the system, that should fix ya right up. Hope this helps, Thanks;
