SOURCE: deville concours oil pressure problem

Before putting any engine back together when doing head gaskets, it is always advisable to have the heads and block checked for warpage and cracks. (don't know if you did or not). Additionally, I try to find the fattest head gaskets available, to provide a bit more cushion. At the point you are at, You need to see if there is any coolant in the oil (likely), then try to find out which side it's coming from, so you don't have to remove both heads again.
Other option is to re-torque heads, going over factory value by about 5pounds, to see if the head will pull down. (possible but not definite)
Other option is to send it to the scrapyard...I have often noted that once overheated, those engines become a "rolling problem factory", therefore I would not think it was a terrible idea.
Or, you might want to experiment and try one of those exotic block sealers that are available...may be interesting to see if it works or not.
Sad part is that if the manufacturers would use a better grade of aluminum and put some zinc back into iron castings, most cracks and warpage could be held to a rarity...nice dream isn't it?
Good luck, whatever choice you make!!

I have a 2004 dodge stratus 2.7 flex fuel engine that just killed on me, it had smoke coming from right hand side under hood. wasnt running hot but put coolant in anyway, first it would try to roll ov

When you say right hand, is that driver or passsenger side? Some people use sides from front and some from behind the wheel. Do you see any oil leakage on the engine from around the seal? Was it making any noise before it died?

My son thinks his a mechanic experimenting ,place a fan as big as palm size in the air induction hose ,he start the escalade and test drive ,he heard a grinding and then knocking sound in the engine, then...

could be the oil pump has failed grinding sound then knocking sound could also be the timing is out or failing that something forren has got into the engine. check all these out and don't run the engine you are making the engine worse. if pump for the oil has gone and the engine has been run can mean a new engine. if timing belt has moved could be a new head will be needed. and pistons. failed oil pump does more damage in the long run as the hole engine needs oil.

Check engine light on / then oil light come on flashing car starts smoking

sounds like your oil is dangerously low, do not drive it until you find the problem. Your engine will only last seconds with seriously low/no oil, and a flashing oil light is a warning of impending failure.

My 04 VW Jetta blew thick white smoke from tailpipe after freeway drive. No indicator lights came on, all oil leaked out (after smoke started)... is this engine or could it be just the turbos? Right...

A new turbo charger is about $340, but you can buy the bearings and seals and rebuilt if yourself for about $100
http://turbosandparts.com/
It is not hard, and it does not take long to do.

I normally do not bother with synthetic, but with a turbo charger, it might be worth it. What really seems to ruin turbo chargers the most is not letting them cool off before parking.
Once you turn off the engine, there is no longer any cooling, so the build up heat will burn up the oil and seals.
Run the engine for at least 5 minutes below turbo levels, before shutting down the engine.

Go to your local auto parts store and ask if they can hook up a code reader and give you the codes in the computer, if the codes are p0300,301,302,303 or 304 numbers this indicates a missfire on a particular cylinder 1,2,3, or 4 if your car seems to be fine now have them clear the codes and see if it returns.

2004 Cadillac Escalade knocking noise

Make sure oil level is adequate.

Also, this could be an exhaust leak that is being closed as the manifold and/or block heats up.
