I have a 2006 cobalt 2.4 and my fan went out what is the best way to take the fan off

    yea but you cant just pull out the fan, it gets caught on stuff

If its an electric fan, there should just be 4 screws holding it to the radiator.

    There will be some wires that you'll have to take loose. Other than that you shouldn't have much trouble. you might have to take the top radiator hose off.

Check with warm engine and off by touching on your radiator vents whether is in all places same temperature. If not check whether you have air in the coolant which needs bleeding,or not good coolant circulation,caused either by clogged radiator,not good water pump,or faulty thermostat.By having these things it is the possibility the fan switch not getting the correct temperature to allow the fans to start. the last thing if everything is working,the possible is the fan switch itself.

Most GM's will turn the fan on anywhere from 200 to 220 degrees and shut off around 195 to 200 degrees.

Car went through a deep puddle, engine coolant light came on and now the fan won't turn off even though I turned off the ignition


pull out the fan relay and see if that kills it. If yes, try a different relay to see if the relay is bad. If the relay is good, the problem is with the fan control circuitry.

Fan switch does not work in the 1, 2, 3, position 2006 Cobalt


You have a problem with the blower motor resistor. This is a very commen problem on all gm cars and light trucks. The part is not to pricey. You can find the resistor under the glove box buy the blower motor. Two bolts and out it comes.

run the car to see if the fan turns on, u can check fan right away by turning on the a/c make sure you have coolant and all coolant hoses are not leaking.
