I need to replace the heater core and I have a new one to replace it with. The problem being is that it's inside the truck itself and doesn't seem easy to get to. We took the dash off to see if that would help and that got us no where lol. I can't figure out how to get to the heater core to take it off and replace it. Do the fenders or something have to come off?

- I don't think this is under the right truck as it stated 1500 but now says K1500? Anyway it looks nothing like the one in the picture but on the truck it says Chevy Silverado and 1500 on it and it has a cap on the back like a blazer. I can't figure out how to edit the problem so I'll just add this lol

- Yea I know it's under the plastic part but there is a screw on the left side of the plastic that seems to come from the other side and we cannot figure out how to get it off. Also even if we do get the plastic thing off how do you replace it? The HC is still inside the metal body of the Truck itself or will it just come out?

- lol alright I'll see what I can do when I get home. Does the plastic need to be off or doesn't it matter (for pictures)?

- Ok that sounds good, as long as my g/f doesn't take the camera with her, otherwise I'll have to use a phone or if I can find my PSP camera. They might no be good quality with those but it should work I hope

- Ok well I talked to my dad again about it, I guess yea your right all we need to do is get the plastic thing off and he says it'll come out. The problem still being that one bolt is bolted from the other side and we aren't sure how to get it off. I guess that's the whole situation lol if you still need pics let me know as I haven't had time for that yet but if you still need them then tonight if I remember I can get em
No it's on the passenger side in a plastic container that has to have the screws removed to get to it, there is one other place the put it depending on AC setup and that’s in the center of the consol the easiest way to find it is follow the heater line hoses from the water pumpto the firewall and that is where the heater core is at but as I said normally they are incased in plastic on the passenger side inside the engine compartment.

- you should be able to open it up enought to get the heater out, might warp the plastic a bit but no big deal, can you take a picture of the passenger side of the truck engine compartment and take a picture of under the dash on passenger side then I can give you the exact proceedure so you don't have to tear the truck down to the wheels to replace it?

- it does not matter as soon as I see the set up I can tell you how to do it I just want to make sure you do it the easy way, hope your ok with that.

- should not be a problem

- look if yo have to brake it off to get to it do so and use a pair of tin snips to cut it out of the way then replace it and seal it up with 3m weatherstrip adhesive otherwise send me a picture of the screw and I will tell you how to get it. out.
