Check Engine Light Keeps Coming on

I have a 2003 Dodge Neon SXT, and for a couple of months now the check engine light comes on, then goes off, then comes on, then goes off, etc... Usually when I start my car in the morning to go to work it is off, but by the time I get to work it is on again. The wierd thing is, whenever I use my criuse control the light comes on within 2 minutes. And when the light is on my cruise control won't always work. (some times it does) Also occasionally when the light is on I feel a **** when my tranny shifts. (It's an automatic) I have had several diagnostic tests done and have been told everything from: a problem with my timing belt to: it's not a "real" error code, what should I do?

Check the negative battery cable. Cut the insulation back & see if the copper is green. If so,replace the cable. Next check the alternator,if more than 1v ac then it's toast. also, post back with the actual code.

I would almost guarantee it is your O2 sensor. You can confirm this by going to autozone and they will run a free diagnostic for you.

Oil pressure light keeps coming on/off after oil was changed at a Midas station

Ellen, check oil level immediately and top up if needed, if was low and light goes out, that was the problem and count yourself lucky that the engine did not blow. If oil level OK, take it into a shop for diagnoses before some thing bad happens to engine which could cost thousands of dollars.

Is your oil level low? If your oil pressure is low as indicated by the light, you will do serious damage to your engine if you continue to drive without repairing the fault. The fault could run the gamut from a loose oil pickup, to a bda oil pump to bad bearings.

The oil light in my 2003 Neon keeps coming on.

it is most definitely the oil pressure sender!

standing in front of your car, look behind your engine from above, below the head and screwed into the block on the right side is the sensor.

My low pressure oil light keeps coming on when i stop and i just got my oil changed. The oil is not low. What could be the problem?

Hi,
That means LOW PRESSURE , not low in volume. Pressure is measured in PSI. The reason that your light comes on when you are at a stop is because your engine goes to idle at a stop and would normally have lower pressure. That doesn't mean you should get a low pressure light though.. I would have it checked by a pro right away as this could be your first warning before a serious problem.

Blinking Check Engine light

This is typically a sign of a "detrimental misfire". A blinking check engine light means DON'T DRIVE ME! You may want to have your coil pack checked, plugs replaced or gapped properly, or wires replaced. Would also have to do with the camshaft sensor causing your timing to be off.
