Question about 2004 Lexus RX 330

1 Answer

I replaced the battery on my '02 Lexus ES300 and now the engine won't remain on unless the gas pedal is pushed at least half way. It feels like the engine is not generating enough pressure to get to the right RPM. How do I correct this issue?

Upon replacing the batter you cleared the computer. These are very strange cars. The computer system or ECM is prone to a master reset should the battery power go below backup capabilities. You will need to do an idle relearn. The only place that this can be done is at a high end mechanic's shop or the dealer. The computer has gone back into it's original state as if it had just been built. It needs to be calibrated (re-taught how to run the car). I know this sounds screwy, I thought so too when I first learned this. It requires extremely expensive and large computer equipment with the correct updates for the ECM in order for this process to work. This is definantly not a process that can be done by an individual without these components. Please repost me with any updates. Thanks. CJ2176

1992 lexus es300 flasher relay location

It is located beside the emergency brake pedal and is the approx. 3/4" square fuse. turn on your signal light and hold on to it you will feel it click.(Addendum) The replacement may only have 3 working prongs; the 4th prong on mine had a soldered connector but wasn't connect to anything. I also had to remove the left kick panel to get to it; a simple operation.

2003 lexus es300 won't start... radio lights and windows work. Tried a jump start, still doesnt work...

Are you saying the engine cranks but won't start, or the engine won't crank ?
If the engine does not crank, you would check for voltage at the starter, the neutral safety switch, and the key switch as well as the ground connections.

I replaced the battery on my '03 Lexus ES300 and now the engine will start but won't remain on unless I keep the gas pedal down about half way. If I let go of the gas pedal the engine will stop.

Hopefully, you can let it relearn itself. You will most likely have to try and drive it,the longer it runs,it will relearn, but if it does not,the dealer, will have to reprogram the computer.
