Question about 1998 Jeep Cherokee

The a/c blower keeps blowing after the key is turned off.. if you take the fuse out it quits blowing..

That fuse circuit goes hot with the key on, shouldn't have voltage before you turn the key on. The fuse circuit sends voltage to several circuits, one of which is the front blower relay. Unplug the relay, see if fuse still blows? If you need to enlarge diagram, sometimes you can click on your highlited post, on that page you may be able to enlarge diagram.

Front blower/rear defog 15A fuse keeps blowing


There is a short to ground on that circuit (a power wire is touching a ground somewhere). Since it happens when you turn the heater on, it's most likely between the front blower and the fuse. Unfortunately there is no easy fix that won't burn your car down, you'll need a wiring diagram and a short finder or multi meter.

2002 venture heater fuse blowing out


You may have a bad resistor or blower motor, a quick test would be to remove the connector from the blower and then turn key on and turn controls to all blower speeds and if the fuse blows then resistor is bad, if the fuse does not blow then reconnect the blower and try the settings again and if fuse blow then blower is bad. good day

The heat continues to blow in my 1998 oldsmobile bravada when in the off position


If the fan keeps blowing when switched off,the relay points are likely fused shut.Pull out the fan relay and see if the blower motor quits.

1992 gmc pickup keeps blowing heater fuses I replaced the blow motor and it keeps blowing


Have you replaced the blower resistor . some times they can cause the fuse to blow . You may need a muiltmeter to test the current draw on the blower motor circuit. the draw should be less then half of the rated fuse .( 20 amp fues draw is less then 10 amps) You did not say but does the blower work on high only or the lower speeds with out blowing the fuse ? if it does work on low or high with out blowing the fuse i would replace the blower resistor

Probably the blower motor resistor. Can you hear the compressor kicking on? If the fan won't blow at any speed, I'll bet it's the resistor.

Fuse keeps blowing on 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee


Your fan seems to be drawing way too much current, common with fan motors of all kinds when they are going bad. It will still blow, but hot wires and blown fuses in the normal circuit indicate you have an excessive load in the circuit. Fan motors create this condition regularly, but are often ignored since they are "still blowing."

Here's a cheap, easy way to test my theory:
Try a new fuse, the proper amperage, but leave the blower motor unplugged at the blower itself. That will tell you in a few rides if the blower was the culprit. (Which it most likely is.) I bet your #20 fuse will stop blowing and no more smoking pink wires! Hope this helps. Remember, blower motors are cheap, traffic tickets and dash fires are not. The blower motor draw is the logical thing wrong with this picture. Good LUCK! TT
