The slipping or no reverse, should have been
enough to tell you what was wrong & stop using it

SOURCE: No tranni downshift upon heavy accel

Hi, two possible issues here. the first could be a malfunctioning shift solenoid. this can affect the shifting operation. the next issue could be the transmission control model(TCM). if this fails, you will experience abnormal shifting during up and downshifting. I would check these areas as well as the fluid level as well. Some transmissions are sealed and you cant check the fluid level. if you have a transmission dip stick visible, please check the fluid level before you check the other areas.

please rate and god bless.

SOURCE: 1991 chrysler new yorker salon. transmission slipping

The over drive band is damage inside or the valve body has to be repaired, I would take to the transmission shop. The transmission is going to have to be repaired internally

SOURCE: automatic tranny will not shift out of low gear. check engine on

you will need to replace your transmission, this is a very common problem with the ultradrive transmissions.

if you have added any fluid to the transmission chances are it was the wrong type.

Have your transmission oil filter changed;
it is located under the transmission pan
The oil is what makes the transmission shift
When you shut off the engine it stops the transmission pump then when you start up again the transmission shifts until the filter clogs again

Transmission

A/T tranny issues. (solenoid )
my auto tranny is slipping in call gears. forward and reverse?
there are no guessing, just tests.
check all fuses.
check AFT levels using the operators guide, (dont guess at ways, do it right way, as 99% dont)
so DRIVE is stuck in 1st gear, or 2nd?
the connect the jumper for the TCM, and get the flash codes.
if it says VSS is dead, then it is.
why wonder this. the TCm will not lie, it will see any bad VSS signals and report them on all cars made. but has flash codes this year.
there are 3 or 4 paths here

1; inputs to TCM wrong, sure it will shift wrong. how could it not.
2: TCM bad , it has good inputs and its outputs are wrong.
3: the TCM to tranny connections are bad, (corrosion)
4: the Solenoids have the correct inputs but fail to work.
bad solenoids or far far worse.
note the order here.. only this works unless guessing with $1500 fist of dollars is ok.

the FSM covers each tests. from 1 to 4.
for on car tests. if the solenoid tests pass its a bad tranny.

Transmission

A/T or M/T (auto or stick ,we dont know)
n moving in drive, reverse or Low or 1? or 2? (me too lazy to look what tranny you have)
it can be 2 things
1: lack of engine power
2: bad clutch or transmission

who do we tell? easy
you step on gas , RPM goes way high and MPH dont. (slips)
tranny slip.
you step on gas, RPM tracks with MPH, good ,
you then do the 5second max. tranny stall test in every car FSM made. and see the stall speed, with brakes hard set.
too high is tranny slip
way to low, engine power POOR.

alldata.com has all this on tranny. stall speed.
the FSM turn to on car A/T service, see STALL test.
bingo.
or youtube the vast number of videos on topic, stall.

wont move at all ,can be :
brake drag (passes stall test)
but first , the tests are, for bad engine or trans,
pick the one it is , state so, and we can go much farther.

93 Honda Accord drive work fine reverse slip or wont work any solutions...

Reverse is the first to go, You might try to replace the fluid and the filter in the tranny, But will more then likely tell you you need a rebuild your tranny. The bands in the tranny ware out and rev, is usually the first to go. It will get worse, This is not cheep nor is a easy fix. You can find you another tranny at a salvage yard for $300-400 And will cost at least $400 to instal. With no warrenty.Best advise i can give is overhaul. Best of luck to you on it.

Auto transmission slips then grabs

first thing i would try is changing the transmission fluid out and filter, i beleive its almost 8 quarts. use a full quart of lucas transmission additive with the new fluid. if this doesn't help, the transmission will either need replaced or rebuilt

Tranny slips & wont shift past 2nd gear

Ok, you will need to first check the fluid level in this transmission. if the trans is sealed, you will need to take to the dealer for a fluid check. assuming that the fluid level is proper, this will usually be caused by a faulty transmission control module and faulty shift solenoids as well. these devices are located on and inside the trans and i recommend testing each device for flaws.

Most slips are the result of gear ware but, the solenoids and TCM will cuse this issue as well.
