Hi I'm getting low compression pressure on cylinder 2 on my Renault Clio 1.4 16v 2003 model 1,3&4 are OK I have changed head gasket, valves, rings but still the compression is low can anyone help please

I wonder did you check your work as you progressed?
Pressure testing the valve seats for instance or even just a paraffin test? A good valve seat is difficult to obtain with the hardened steel seats used for unleaded fuel, especially when using a coarse grade of carborundum paste.

In order to discover where the compression leak is it will be necessary to set the cylinder at the top of the compression stroke, lock the engine and then inject compressed air into the cylinder using either a propriety or home-made adapter in the spark plug hole. It will soon be obvious where the air is leaking from indicating the fault.

Valve clearances are important and in the case of hydraulic self-adjusting valve lifters it is possible for them to stick and hold the valve slightly open. I generally squeeze each one in a vice several times until all the oil has been evacuated.
If the valve spring is weak or the oil pressure relief valve is stuck closed tappet jacking is possible.
Good luck!

What is the compression on the other cylinders, 110 lbs is low, however it is suffeint to fire so if the plug, coil and injector are working it should fire that cylinder

My 1998 rav 4 has a bad miss from number 2 cylinder have replaced to spark plugs a tested the leads ,Leads are all ok.what else could be causing this problem?

Also is your Coolant or oil level low after driving? Does your spark plug look like there is lots of white or black deposits on it? These indicate mechanical problems in the cylinder.

Car overheated random cylindar misfire after the overheat after it heats up it bogs down and eventually dies. I have done a compresion test 2 center cylander are 10-15 psi depending also little black...

if the center 2 cylinders have only 10-15lbs pressure then you need to do a wet compression test to see if it is valves or piston rings that are bad.put about tablespoon of oil into each cylinder and turn over motor and redo the compression test.if the compression goes up you have a ring problem if it doesn`t it is a valve problem.you should check the oil to see if it has a white-caramel look to it as this indicates water in the oil.(head gasket) if the coolant level is low it can be burning coolant, you should have the cooling pressure tested just in case.it could possibly be a cracked head.if it overheats because of the low compression(sometimes happens) the motor is working twice as hard(runs hotter) as the other good cylinders have to work harder to do the same amount of work,

#1 plug is miss-firing.I have replaced plug and wire, but keeps miss-firing only on#1 plug.have been told that coolant is possibly getting in #1cylinder.also I have been told #1 coil could be bad.witch is...

Could only be a few things. The coil #1, Fuel injector #1, Stuck intake or exhaust valve, or blown head gasket allowing coolant into cylinder #1. Use a spark tester to check the spark coming out of cylindr #1 if checks good then ohm test the injector when it is warm. Check other injectors to compare. Do a compression test on cylinder #1 and test other cylinders to compare. If cylinder is low compression suspect valves and or head gasket. If compression is low then het a leak down tester to test if a valve is broke or sticking. On your sable i would suspect injector or coil most likely.

1997 silverado 5.7L I am going to replace the intake gasket because it is leaking. It is buring 1-1/2 quarts of oil or more between oil changes. I suspect a vavle job may be in order but have never done...

Bad valve's will not burn oil, bad valve will cause a cylinder miss fire, due to you will loose cylinder compression, I would replace the valve seal's, Also do a wet and dry compression test, do a dry test, and write down reading's, then add oil in cylinder, and do another compression test, if in any cylinder's compression jumps higher then dry test, that's where your loosing oil, weak piston ring's.

Combo diesel engine blows blue smoke from only one cylinder, disconnected electric on each cylinder but smoked only on the same cylinder. Could it be the head gasket, leak from oil passage way. Should i try...

Blue smoke means that the cylinder is burning oil with gas/diesel. White smoke means that the engine is cold and excess fuel is being burnt. It means that the cylinder is having worn out rings. They need a change. Also check the engine oil level as well. It may be going low gradually.

Low compresion on one cylinder on 2.5 taureg

Low compression can be caused by either worn or stuck piston rings or by a valve seating problem (which can be in the valve seat, a worn cam or in the rocker/push rod assembly between them). The way to determine is to start with a cool engine (meaning the rings are dry), run compression test on the cylinder in question (or all if you like, I would) then put a little bit of oil in the cylinder/cylinders and re-run the test. If the compression comes up it is the rings. If not it is in the valve not seating properly. Of course after you put oil in the cylinders when you start the car don't be alarmed at it smoking for a couple of minutes until the oil burns out. That's normal.

#2 and #5 cylinder has no compresion

try putting in 1/2 once of oil in #2and#5 turn engine over for 2 seconds then hook up the compression gauge and check compression if there is then the cylinders got wash out if compression doesnt come up you have broke the spring or bent the valve.
