Thank You...I had already removed the nuts, but still the part would not move. Appears to be glued in. Are there any clamps that I need to be aware of...or do I just push it out?

How do I replace the brake lamp on an 89 Ford Tempo XL?

Open the trunk and remove clips that hold carpet in place around the trunk latch. Remove the screw caps that hold tail light inplace and slide light assembly out. Careful NOT to pull too hard on assembly to avoid damage to wires. Squeeze clips and turn lamp socket and pull out. Replace bulb. Installation of light assembly is reverse of removal. Be sure to replace all screw caps on light assembly.
