Question about 1999 Chrysler Town & Country

I have a 2002 town & Country and think the BCM is bad

I have lost the map and dome lights, the visor lights, the over head console, power door locks, all functions for AC and rear window defrost and the key fab functions. Can you tell me where the Body Control Module is on a 2002 Town & Country and what does it look like

    All the fuses are good.I hooked up to a scaner that will scan the BCM and no DTC were set. All the switches work as displayed on the scanner. They toggle when activated. The problem is that I can’t get one from Chrysler because of the bankruptcy. Chrysler did not pay Continental the supplier of these modules and Continental will not send out any until they get paid by Chrysler.

Check all fuses under dash & under hood in fuse/relay box first.

    Nice eh, they screw up & now your stuck. Dealer should be able to check other dealers inventory, or an auto recycler may be your only choice right now, just make sure it's exact same part # on it. Yours should be up under passenger side of dash, but other years close to yours had them up under dash by fuse panel on drivers side, so better check both.

Dome lights won't work on my 2005 Chevy equinox


The courtesy lamp supply voltage circuit of the body control module (BCM) supplies battery positive voltage to the dome lamp, the liftgate lamps, and the map lamps. When any door is opened, the door jamb switch contacts close providing a door open input to the BCM. The BCM then provides a ground to the interior lamps with the switch in the AUTO position. The interior lamps receive a ground at G401 with the switch in the ON position.
The following lamps may be manually turned ON by placing the interior lamp switch in the ON position, or by opening a door while the switch is in the AUTO position.

This could be a BCM problem , this best left to a ASE certified repair shop or the dealer .

Can't get dome lights on when door is opener even with override switch off?

The courtesy lamp supply voltage circuit of the body control module (BCM) supplies battery positive voltage to the dome lamp, the liftgate lamps, and the map lamps. When any door is opened, the door jamb switch contacts close providing a door open input to the BCM. The BCM then provides a ground to the interior lamps with the switch in the AUTO position. The interior lamps receive a ground at G401 with the switch in the ON position.
Important: If the liftgate is opened after all the modules go to sleep, the dome light will not come on. The liftgate ajar switch input to the BCM will not wake up the BCM once it has gone to sleep, so the dome light will not come on. Once the BCM gets an input to wake it up, from remote keyless entry (RKE) or a door handle, the dome light will turn on when the liftgate is opened.
If the driver inadvertently leaves any interior lamp ON, the BCM will turn it OFF after a 20 minute time-out.
The courtesy lamps will turn OFF immediately if the ignition switch is turned to the ON position or approximately 20 seconds after all doors are closed.
The courtesy lamps are controlled by the body control module (BCM). Inputs from the dome lamp switch and the door ajar switches are monitored by the BCM. When a door ajar switch is closed, or the dome lamp switch is turned to the ON position, the BCM supplies the B+ for the courtesy lamps.
With out a factory Tech2 scan tool or equivalent an knowing how these systems work ,you best bet is to take your vehicle to the dealer or some other ASE certified repair shop !

Which fuse controls the map lights in the 2002 jeep liberty


map light? and no symptoms..

the dimmers on the HL stalk. (held lamp , park dash dimmer)
if the power to the map is dead so will many other things be dead.
lost the 2002 operators guide, ?
in cars 1 fuse runs many things. thus my others dead comment.
why not be clear, , the overhead dome map light. say where
hand is, because many cars have dash map lamps, so.....
my hand is on the DOME light above and its what DEAD?
i log into alldata.com so can you.
i look at this schematic, and there are 2 lamps
MAP and cargo, map is the traditional DOME. lamp now MAP.
but they both use the same fuse. so are both dead.?front and rear?
or both stuck on? what are the symptoms.?

both lamps have manual direct control (sw) PUSH THEM ?
If not in manual mode, there are controlled by the BODY computer BCM..
both run off JB1, fuse 34.
now i bet the next question is where is fuse 34, well its in the JB.
and where is JB its at your left knee, (USA only LHD only. comments )
fuse 34 runs the foot courtesy lamps... are they dead?
and visor vanity.
there are 2 fuse boxes. one in engine bay and one in cab, some cars

PDC fuse box is engine bay, Jeep lingo...
JB is in plain view above left ankle, look down then up and left.
bingo JB.
the box had fuse and relay ID's
the operators guide shows , all the fuses and name.

i dont have the OP guide so cant find the name for Fuse 34.
but there is no need yet if the other lamps work then FUSE 34 is good.
and is 15amps.
