A 96 nv 4500 shift tower and shifter where can i buy one

I found that 1991 through 1996 Dakota are the 1st Gen Facelift. According to Autozone the 1993 and 1996 are the same engines. If you call your local junk yard they have a 100% accurate answer.

Every VW dealership has a junk yard affiliated with it. In Seattle we have Carter which has a major junk yard for spare parts located closer to Arlington. You can try calling there or your local dealership. Otherwise try a transmission shop and compare with online parts dealers.

there is a pin on bottom of shifter that has sheered, or the plastic ball it sets in has cracked, Id just go to local junk yard and get a used shifter to repair it, and can be changed in minutes

well probably the only place that would have shifter parts like that available would be the dealer. i would go there in person and they will pull up a picture of your entire shifter assembly and you can pick out what part it is you need. i still dont have a clear picture of what exact part of the shift linkage you need but they will be able to tell you exactly what it is. a lot of times you cant buy parts singularly you have to buy an assembly also so you'd probably be better off looking at a salvage yard. try www.car-part.com

Ebay. Search for your car (just the model, not the year) and shifter. Email the seller (usually a salvage yard) and ask for the emergency brake. I would send them the VIN# to be 100% sure.

ok what breaks on most of these shift interlock shifter ***. is where the interlock cable attaches to the shifter assy. chrysler has the same prob. cheap stuff. no i don't think you can fix it as when it was new it already was junk. call a junk yard or try to get one off ebay. and yes they are very easy to replace. goodluck
