Hi. You have misfires on cylinders 4, 5 and 6. If there are no faults on cylinder 1, 2 and 3 then I would check the power to the left bank injectors. Also check spark plugs and ht leads. If there are running issues then this should be an easy fix. If the faults are very intermitant then it can be a bit tricky to isolate.

replace your fuel filter first. If that does not do it, then try an air-flow meter. (if the check engine light is on it may be an airflow meter.

PO300 and P1399 are random cylinder misfire detected.
PO301 cylinder 1 misfire
PO302 cylinder 2 misfire
PO304 cylinder 4 misfire
PO306 cylinder 6 misfire
I would say that you have damage to the ignition wiring harness or you ECM is failing.

How to fix diagnostic code for 1999 vw passat po304 po305 po306

Does it have a 2.8? There is a bulletin pertaining to updated ECM if the number is the same as bulletin. Now that is if the basic tune-up parts are good. What those codes are telling you is, that cylinders 4,5 & #6 are misfiring. So if it is over 100,000 miles, I would have a tune-up done first, because an ECM will be expensive.

If a tune up (spark plugs, ignition wires, distributor cap/rotor button or coil packs) don't work, try checking the fuel system.

You need the car diagnosed

I doubt you have lifters, should have
OHC valve train

Most likely the oil passages are clogged up
in the cams with sludge

These are misfire codes. This means that your vehicle is missing. The 300 is a random misfire and the 305 is for cylinder 5,and the 306 is for cylinder number 6.Check the plugs if they are good then you could have bad coils. They are top of the plugs.Hope this helps.Good luck.
