My front air works fine, rear air does not even come on using either driver or passenger control knobs.Think control switch(switches) are inop?

If you had a volt meter, you could test inputs at switches, but start with the one on the dash first not the overhead. Always check fuses first for correct voltage on bothe sides of the fuse. It is not likely ther is a rear blower fuse. You can actually test the switch too with the resistance test of the meter. As you cycle the switch through positions you can see if the paths are getting transferred then if they are you move to rear blower and check for voltage at blower. The main rear blower switch will only function in the rear selection mode on the dash switch so the rear switch is out of the equation., good luck

No Front Heat 2003 Dodge Caravan - Tried most everything

If I am understanding you correctly, the blower fan is not running. You will need to take things apart until you can get to the blower itself. (Or you could test for voltage at the blower control switch) But I am guessing it is the blower that has gone bad, not the switch. However, they usually get noisy, and then go bad. Test for 12 volts going into the blower motor. If you have voltage at the blower motor, and it doesn't run, replace the blower motor.

What would cause the rear ac in a 2003 envoy slt to stop blowing but the front works fine?

check fan under consul(sp) to make sure it is still working. Or check line to make sure it is not blocked.

Got a 207 chevy tahoe ltz--rear air works ---front air does not work. any suggestions?

"2007 chevy tahoe ltz--rear air works ---front air does not work." Hi! I guess you are referring to the front hvac blower not blowing air at any speed and not coming out at any vents at any mode position. If this is the case, you can start with the fuses at the underhood fuseblock. Check out the three hvac labeled fuses. If found okay, and the hvac controller on your dashboard seemed to be working normally, you better check out your front hvac blower motor underneath the right IP section. You need to verify if power is reaching your front hvac blower when requested by the a/c blower controller. I hope you get lucky. If this is not for you, perhaps a few more detailed symptoms would be helpful. : )

How do you change the front blower motor in a 2006 jeep commander? it's gone out twice now since we bought the jeep. the first time we had a mechanic fix it because it was under warranty. but now it's gone...

why not post the symptoms.? (all, not just dead) on all speeds?
the front just unscrews. its not hard, at all. nor worth 500 bucks.
but was that $450 for motor and $50 install? cant guess that ...

did you check all fuses first (in all fuse boxes , not just one)?????
FRONT OR REAR system? wow, with not symptoms i cant guess.
blow dead on HIIGH speed,
is it manual option or climate control HVAC option?
ATC or MTC systems (a means auto, m = manual)
did you replace the blower resistor first, if low speed fails.
did the hot wire test on blower fail, , ? do say this, as wasting a non good blower, is "over the top"

ill guess, front
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the instrument panel silencer from the passenger side of the instrument panel.
  3. Remove the glove box from the instrument panel.
  4. Disconnect the blower motor wire harness connector from the blower motor power module or resistor, depending on how equipped.
  5. Remove the three screws that secure the blower motor to the HVAC housing.
  6. Remove the blower motor from the HVAC housing.
rear is 16 steps. so..............................

all answers by me are USA cars, (usa forum it is)
and non Diesel, yes, its diffr.

now things that cause (hot wire to blower passes my tests)
failures of blower
  1. blower relay bad,
  2. input to relay wrong.
  3. fuse blown PDC #1 F1.
  4. A/c controller not commanding blow. there are 2 of these. modules.
  5. lots more but i need your unstated facts first. all of them.
all this and more is in the FSM book or at alldata.com diy for $15

order
Fuse 1 good , use a scan tool yet, to see if there are errors>?

Relay PDC relay blower motor front has 12vdc on in 87
ill pretend MTC, system
the 12vdc above goes to the blower, pin 1, is it>?
then the controller grounds pin 2 of blower on high
does it 0v? there? , it does so via ground G200.
if not its bad or the switch to it is bad.
the resistor block does not kill HIGH speed ever. cant. do that.
so is controller, or its switch bad, if not 0v here.
(keep in mind, my hot wire test passes on the blower )O

if 12vdc is at pin 1 on motor
you can jumper pin 2 to ground, fan will blow on
high, if not blower is bad (front)
it if blows now then the controller is bad or inputs wrong to it.
simple huh?

A/c front blower is warm, but rear blowers are fine

This is a common problem and the solution usually is that the fron thermostat is usually gone and needs replaising. Shouldn't be too much money to get done. It's just not opening up to let the cold air pass into the from area but the rear one is working fine which allows it to blow cold air.

Blower fan on a/c quit blowing in front but still blows and blows cold air in back

first off make sure you have no blown fuse. but front blower motor may be bad. if it does not work in any speedyou can check for power at the wires going to the blower. under dash on passenger side

Front AC Blower quit working. Rear AC blower

The first thing I would do is check to see if a fuse is blown or bad relay. Then I would unplug the blower motor with a test light make sure you are getting power to the blower located on the far passenger side of the vehicle under the dash if it has power and good ground then suspect vaulty motor. If you are not getting power at the plug then you might have a bad switch or resister. If it does have a blown fuse remember they usually blow for a reason like faulty wiring or even a in the motor itself. I would also recommend that you change the ac cabin filters behind the glove box if they have not been changed most people neglect them on that vehicle because they are a little more difficult to change, after removing the glove box there is a metal bracket in the way of opening the cabin filter compartment. They wont cause a blower motor to not work, however they do restrict airflow to the evaporator and they protect you from pollen, dust, and even exhaust gases. Hope this helps.

You will have a blower motor resistor that controls power and the speeds to the blower motor it will be by the blower motor and is cheap new.
