How to check tranny fluid in Jeep

I cannot find where to check the transmission fluid level in a 1995 jeep grand Cherokee. I just bought it and want to make sure all fluids are filled to the right level. It sounds silly, but the dipstick isn't where I am used to it being....or at least I can't find it. Thanks.

The dipstick is located at the back of the engine bay near the motor.Warm the car up properly.Park and pull on the handbrake.Go through all the gears and finish in neutral.Leave the engine running in neutral and check the trans.oil level. The marks are on the dipstick. From ADD to FULL it's about 1 pint.Hope this helps

How does one add transmission fluid to 1995 jeep grand cherokee laredo?

Look for the dipstick where you check the transmision fluid level. If you need any you pour it down the dipstick hole. Add it in small amounts and check in between additions, its really easy to overfill. Once overfilled a real pain to get it out.

How do I check the fluid in the bell housing on a 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

The fluid that is inside of your torque converter, which is located in the bell housing is your transmission fluid.. If your tranny fluid level is good, then the fluid inside of your torque converter is good...Now if you are leaking fluid from that area, it could be either your front seal that is inside the bell housing, or your rear main oil seal......

!995 jeep gr cherk. transmission fluid. add hot

Its best to add while all is hot..
Leave it runing in park while adding fluid..
Put a little at a time and keep checking being careful not to over fill..
The dipstick mesures in pints - not quarts..

Rate well ;o)

2001 jeep grand cherokee leaking transmission fluid. It's not gushing out, just barely dripping when stopped and the tranny fluid level seems fine when checked (hot). It seems to be coming from the rear...

clean off entire area near where you suspect the leak is coming from, then look carefully to locate it. Try slightly tightening any bolts near the leak area after it's located If at the pan gasket do not overtighten or you will crush the gasket and it will leak more. Yes, it can be driven as long as you keep it full.

Check the condition of the tranny oil on the dipstick. If it's black and smelly, the tranny clutches might be worn out. Make sure you have enough fluid in there first. Check the fluid with the car engine running and the tranny in park. The level should be between the 2 marks.
